The Duke of Ed is coming to Star-Athletics! 🌟
This has been a real labour of love, but I know it will be completely worthwhile.
We are officially kicking off our first Duke of Edinburgh Award with Star-Athletics in November, with the aim of finishing in February 2027.
So far, Rueban, Leigh, Asha C and Tony are all keen to get involved, and we'd love to have a few more join us!
For anyone wondering what is involved, here's a quick breakdown:
Cost: $165 – This goes directly to Duke of Ed. Star-Athletics does not profit from this.
Voluntary Service: This could be helping me coach, volunteering within your current sport or giving back to the community.
Physical Recreation: You're already doing that! Your regular sporting activities can count.
Skills: This could be developing a particular skill within your sport or learning something completely new.
Adventurous Journey: Star-Athletics will organise both a practice journey and the qualifying journey. We'll do these together, and I promise we'll have a blast!
You should be 14 years old at the time of undertaking this, however, I can take 13 year olds.
I've pushed hard to have Star-Athletics registered as an Award Centre because I genuinely believe this is a fantastic opportunity for our athletes. It's about so much more than sport. It's about building independence, confidence, leadership and a willingness to give things a go.

And if you're unsure what it all involves, I'm more than happy to have a phone call and walk you through the expectations, how it works and why I'm so passionate about making this happen.
I'm really looking forward to getting this underway!
