Humpybong Yacht Club is mourning the passing this week of a treasured member of our club. Leon Percy was a life long sailor and a dedicated instructor who played a pivotal role in the start of so many sailing journeys. As he endured his extended personal battle with cancer, he made time to mentor many of our young instructors and was always on hand to help others to get out on the water.

He will be be missed by many. The club extends our deepest condolences to Leon's family and friends at this difficult time.

This last weekend we saw out the fifth HYC Women & Girls Regatta which is officially half a decade old! On Saturday we experienced some ‘fresh’ conditions, with everyone out on the water to give it a go (with stories to now tell). Sunday’s conditions were a bit shifty but welcome after Saturday’s challenges.
Many thanks to our volunteers on and off the water and in the lead-up. HYC is a volunteer run club and we cannot hold these events without them. Thank you to the participants that came from far and wide to sail in our little Regatta. Many thanks to our fantastic coaches (Caitlin Calder, Kayla Boothby and Emily Vivien) who keep returning each year! Here are the results…..
