Another fantastic yearly visit!

I always love visiting Hunny Pots and seeing the excitement when the experiments begin! So many curious kids, fantastic questions and plenty of WOW moments along the way. 🔬✨

For me, the best part is getting children asking questions, making predictions and discovering science for themselves.

A quick “Biology in the Park” moment today 🌿

Just before a science session, we spotted a kookaburra catching prey and repeatedly hitting it against a tree.

This behaviour helps break down the food, making it easier to swallow — a simple but powerful example of animal adaptation.

These are the moments I love most…
when science jumps out of the real world and becomes something children can see and understand instantly.

Science isn’t just something we teach —
it’s something we notice.

“Wait… dinosaurs didn’t actually spit venom?!” 😳

One of the most common things kids say when we bring out the Dilophosaurus fossil…

Movies made it look dramatic — but real science tells a different story:

❌ No venom
❌ No frill
✔️ No fossil evidence for either

And that’s the fun part — watching kids go from
“I saw this in a movie…”
to
“Ohhh… that makes sense!”

That’s what our Dinosaur & Fossil Shows are all about —
making science real, hands-on, and actually understandable.
