While we are very excited to hear from you, please be aware that we reserve the right to moderate this page as we see fit and remove any posts or materials that we deem inappropriate or not beneficial to the wider community. Our Toddler children have been busy caring for our beautiful garden, taking responsibility for watering our plants and helping them grow! 🌻💧

Through these hands-on experiences, we are embedding sustainable practices into our everyday learning, encouraging children to develop a love and respect for our natural environment. 🌏

By involving our little learners in caring for our garden, we are teaching them the importance of looking after our planet, conserving our natural resources and understanding that even the smallest actions can make a BIG difference! 🌱

🐣 Henny Penny at Goodstart Woodend

At Goodstart Woodend, our Henny Penny program gives children the wonderful opportunity to experience the magic of new life right before their eyes!

Our children watch as eggs are carefully placed into an incubator and, after patiently waiting, witness our little chicks hatch. 🐥 From the very first crack in the shell to watching the chicks grow, children are involved in caring for and learning about these beautiful animals.

Through this hands-on experience, children explore the lifecycle of a chicken, learning where chickens come from, how eggs develop, what chicks need to grow and how they eventually become adult chickens.

The experience also provides opportunities for children to develop a deeper understanding of care, responsibility, empathy and respect for living things. Children can observe, ask questions, make predictions and share in the excitement of caring for our chicks.

It’s a beautiful, hands-on learning experience that connects children with nature and provides meaningful opportunities for children to learn through real-life experiences. ❤️

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Take another look through your What & When for Families guide to explore age-appropriate activities and learning ideas you can try together.

Our wonderful “Anita” I mean cat in the hat, read some books to the children today as a part of book week, making references to dress ups they were wearing in the room and relating it to the book. 🧚🦄🧌🐉
