‼️Long post alert! ‼️

I’m crazy passionate about music education!
I am university trained as a music teacher, I have a Bachelor of Teaching and Bachelor of Arts (Music/Mathematics). I have taught music and maths in schools for 20 years. In the last 10 years I have focused in on Primary school performing arts (music, dance, drama). I teach over at Daylesford PS a few days a week.
I have also loved performing/presenting at music festivals (ChillOut & Spring Bliss) and look forward to doing more of that this year also!

I do private flute, piano and ukulele lessons from home and this year I am adding in A CHILDREN’S CHOIR!!!
Check out the link to book in (first session is free, but I still need you to register).
I’ll be setting up from 3.45pm so that kids can wander over from school, the session starts officially at 4pm. Also happy for kids to drift in up to 4.15pm if that’s what works for your family’s schedule. This choir is about building social capabilities & confidence, accepting & embracing diversity, having good ole fun as well as improving musicality. No prior experience required!

At Young Warblers we believe if you can speak, you can sing. Meeting in Woodend each week, singing teacher Katie Yeung will lead the group through a series of fun warm ups and teach a range of songs - some in unison and some in two-part harmony. Young Warblers is great way for children aged 5 to 12....

What instrument? (Part 3 of 3)

Flute!

Such a beautiful instrument with an utterly unique sound. Classical or modern compositions both lend themselves well to this woodwind. It is a little bit more difficult to start off with (getting a sound out initially is a bit hit and miss!), but oh so rewarding!
Great for improving lung capacity (note asthma sufferers) and easy to carry around (case is about 40cm long). A great portable instrument for those who would like to read traditional notation, play solo or in groups and realise lugging a piano around is out of the question for future adventures!
Suitable for older children or adults.

But which instrument......... (part 2 of 3)
The ukulele is such a fun, easy instrument to play! Easy to carry around and spontaneously jam with friends or busk on a street corner. Having only four strings means that the chord shapes are much easier than a guitar. Great option for small hands who hope one day to play a guitar! Perfect for someone who just wants to make music, but not really keen on learning to read traditional notation. If you are into singing, it's time you picked up a ukulele...

But which instrument......... (part 1 of 3)
Piano is a great instrument to start your music journey. The fixed pitch and very visual representation of high and low help you understand conventional music notation more easily.

And who doesn't want to just casually pull off a Debussy piece at a friend's house party?!

Beginner piano lessons are for adults or children who don't necessarily want to do music exams but do want to read music.
