7th – 11th September

📣 Parent Communication Week is happening all week! We look forward to connecting with our families and sharing updates about your child’s learning and wellbeing.

💬 Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey will also take place this week. This gives our students an opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences about school and helps us continue to support their wellbeing and engagement. 💙

Today we celebrate all the wonderful fathers, grandfathers, stepdads, carers, role models and special people who support, encourage and care for the children in our community. 🌟

Thank you for all the ways you help our little ones grow, learn and feel loved. We hope you have a beautiful day filled with special moments together! 💙🌿

🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️ District Swimming Success! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️

A huge congratulations to Woodbridge School students who chose to represent our school at the High School District Swimming Carnival! 🎉

Between them, our swimmers came home with an incredible 11 first-place finishes! 🥇👏

Congratulations to all of our swimmers on their outstanding athletic performances, and especially on the encouragement and support they showed one another throughout the carnival. 💙

We’re excited to see our winners go on to represent the District Team at the Inter-High Swimming Carnival at the end of the month. 🏊‍♀️

New and updated behaviour processes:

As part of our commitment to building an effective and connected school community, we’re updating and refining our processes around some common behaviour challenges - specifically phone use, uniform policy, refusing to work, and swearing. Our aim is simple: we want to remove confusion, create shared expectations, and ensure every student receives a fair, consistent response in every situation.

By establishing clear guidelines and responses, we make it easier for everyone- students, staff and families alike - to know exactly where we stand and how we work together to support learning. These updates are a positive step to ensure our school remains a place where respect, clarity and connection are front and centre. Whilst we are still finalising the wording we wanted to share the draft flow charts that the students will be looking at on Monday.

🧗 Outdoor Education at Rock It!

Recently, our Outdoor Education class headed to Rock It in Hobart for an action-packed day of climbing and challenge! 🪨

Students developed their rock climbing and belaying techniques, while also building valuable resilience strategies as they navigated new challenges, supported one another and stepped outside their comfort zones.

And, as is often the case, the tunnels were a favourite way to finish the trip! 😄🕳️

A fantastic day of teamwork, perseverance and adventure! 🌟

What’s on in Week 6?
Monday 31st August – Friday 4th September

We’re heading into a busy and exciting Week 6 at Woodbridge School, and with spring arriving this week, there’s plenty happening across the school! 💙💛

Monday
🥁 Drumming Up: Students in Years 3–7 will enjoy the African Concert, Drumming Up. We can’t wait to see and hear our students getting involved in this exciting experience!

🎭 Secondary Drama Club: Drama Club will be running at lunchtime for students who enjoy performing, creating and having fun.

♟️ Chess Club: Chess Club will be in the school library at lunchtime. A great opportunity for students to enjoy a game, practise their skills and challenge a friend.

Tuesday
🌱 Garden Club: Garden Club is on at lunchtime with Mrs Patterson and Joel. Students can get involved in some gardening, growing and hands-on outdoor learning.

Wednesday
📚🐶 Story Dogs: Our wonderful Story Dogs team Lee + Riley, are here to support students with reading and help make reading a positive and enjoyable experience.

🥪 School Canteen: The canteen is open Wednesday–Friday, with a range of healthy lunch options available.

Thursday
🏊 High School District Swimming: Good luck to our students swimming at Clarence Pool!

🐠 Marine Discovery Centre: The Student Engagement Group will be heading along for another hands-on session at the MDC.

👩‍🍳 Cooking Engagement Group: Students will have the opportunity to develop their cooking skills and enjoy some hands-on learning.

🎶 Primary Choir: Our Primary Choir will meet at lunchtime for singing, music and plenty of fun!

Friday
⭐ Sea Stars (LIL): Our Launching into Learning group is heading Out and About at Kinder Gym (Kingborough Sports Centre). We’re looking forward to an active morning of play, movement and connection. RSVP to [email protected]

🎣 Cast & Connect: Our fishing group will be out enjoying another session together.

🎸 Secondary Rock Band: Rock Band will be making some music at lunchtime!

📚🐶 Story Dogs team Sue + Archie will be back for another day of reading.

📣 Week 9 – Thursday 24th September: Primary Assembly. Parents and families are warmly welcome to join us and celebrate the achievements of our students.

🏊 Week 9 – Friday 25th September: Inter High Swimming Carnival at the Aquatic Centre. We wish all of our participating students the very best!

🎨 Thursday 1st October – Arts Evening: We’re very excited to announce the date for our 2026 Arts Evening! 🎉

Save the date and keep an eye out for more information as we get closer. We’re looking forward to celebrating the creativity and talents of our students with our school community.

Bookings are open for face-to-face parent–teacher conversations to discuss your child’s wellbeing, learning and social goals.
