🌏 Welcoming Hakui High School to Bass Coast College! 🌏

This week, we were delighted to welcome students and staff from our sister school, Hakui High School, who visited us from Saturday 1 August to Thursday 6 August.

Throughout their stay, the students participated in a range of special programs and activities, giving them the opportunity to experience Australian school life, build friendships and learn more about our local community.

On Monday, the visiting students also joined their host siblings in regular classes, providing a wonderful chance to experience everyday learning at Bass Coast College and connect with our students and staff.

A huge thank you to our host families, students and staff for making our visitors feel so welcome. We hope our friends from Hakui High School enjoyed their time with us and returned home with many happy memories! πŸ’™

The Victorian Youth Congress are hosting a Youth Forum on Saturday 15 August as part of their core project work and they are really keen to include voices of young people from regional Victoria. Please see attached flyer and information below for more details.

This year, the Victorian Youth Congress has been exploring how Victoria can better support young people to make informed decisions about their education, training and career pathways.

Through conversations with young people across the state, Congress members have heard that many young people face barriers to accessing information, opportunities and support that align with their interests, strengths and aspirations. We also know that regional young people often have unique experiences that deserve dedicated attention.

This forum has been designed to create space for regional young people to come together, share their experiences, brainstorm ideas and ideate innovative solutions that could improve education and career pathways across Victoria.

This won't be a traditional consultation. Instead, participants will take part in an engaging, workshop-style session where they'll collaborate with other young people, explore different perspectives, build on each other's ideas and help identify the solutions with the greatest potential for impact.
