Today, Arzarna and Zoe travelled to Gordonvale State School to represent our school at the Makers Empire Showcase.

We couldnโ€™t be prouder of the girls and the incredible learning journey they have undertaken alongside Leo and Dakuan. Their dedication, creativity and commitment have been outstanding, giving up their lunch hours on Tuesdays and joining our fun Friday sessions to develop and refine their projects.

While we unfortunately didnโ€™t take home the opportunity to attend the National Competition in Adelaide, we are incredibly proud of what our students have achieved.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing our students genuinely congratulate and celebrate Daintreeโ€™s Peer Trophy win. Their sportsmanship, encouragement and support for one another made us incredibly proud.

Well done, Arzarna, Zoe, Leo and Dakuan โ€” what an amazing journey!

Our Future Master Chefs Steal the Spotlight!

Our Year 3/4 students stole the spotlight today with a delicious cook-up as part of our OzHarvest Design Technology unit!

After recently completing a homework task investigating food wastage at home, we quickly realised that bread, cheese, fruit and vegetables are some of the foods most commonly thrown away.

Today, our students showed us that those leftovers can be transformed into something delicious!

๐Ÿณ Out-of-the-fridge omelettes packed with peas, spinach, capsicum, zucchini, feta and bamboo shoots
๐Ÿฅช Savoury toast featuring spinach, capsicum, carrot, cheese and feta
๐Ÿž French toast topped with pawpaw and kiwi fruit
๐Ÿฅค Leftover fruit smoothies made by mixing up a delicious combination of fruit

The whole school did an excellent job judging our future Master Chefs and eagerly awaits the next cooking challenge!

What a fantastic way to learn about reducing food waste, making the most of what we have and creating healthy, delicious food!

Thank you OzHarvest for this opportunity.

We are very fortunate to have Bev volunteer her time and tennis coaching skills at our school. ๐Ÿคฉ

A Busy Week Ahead!

Hold onto your hats because we have a very busy week ahead at school! There is something happening almost every day, with learning, adventures and plenty of excitement for our students.

Our Year 5 students are off to camp, while in Technologies, our Year 6 students will be getting their hands dirty with a Beach Clean Up as part of their learning. Our Year 3โ€“4 students will also be busy in the kitchen, cooking up some delicious โ€œFrom the Fridgeโ€ omelettes and French toast.

Wednesday is set to be a Wild Wednesday, with our usual Bike Bus, Miss Lindaโ€™s Ooshie Swap, and, of course, our Out of this World Family Night! Have you booked your familyโ€™s session yet? Bookings are essential, so make sure you secure your spot!

Thursday and Friday will see the Shake & Stir Drama Company visiting our school for some exciting drama experiences. Meanwhile, our STEM Ambassadors will be heading off to compete in the Makerโ€™s Empire Showcase. We wish them the very best of luck!

And donโ€™t forgetโ€ฆ itโ€™s Sushi Week! Sushi will be available on Thursday, so make sure you get your orders in.

Itโ€™s certainly going to be a big one โ€” learning, creating, competing, performing and having plenty of fun along the way! Bring on the week!

Our Year 5/6 students have been learning about the threats facing the Great Barrier Reef and today our Year 5s took their learning into action!

They headed to the beach to collect rubbish and help reduce the impact of litter on our precious marine environment. Every piece of rubbish removed is one less threat to our beautiful reef and the incredible wildlife that calls it home.

A fantastic example of our students making a difference and caring for the environment right on our doorstep.
