*Understanding of Early Years Learning Framework

As part of our Transition to School Program, our children regularly visit our local primary school to build confidence, develop a sense of belonging, and become familiar with their future learning environment.

During our recent visit, the children participated in a meaningful cultural workshop where they explored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives through hands-on experiences, storytelling, and shared learning.

These valuable opportunities support children to develop an appreciation for the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples while strengthening their understanding of respect, inclusion, and connection to Country.

Experiences such as these not only enrich children’s learning but also foster positive relationships and help create a confident and successful transition to school ⭐️📚✏️

TRANSITION TO SCHOOL GROUP 🔈

Today at our School as Community Centre Matt and Jack ran cultural lessons for a transition to school preschool group.

SUSTAINABILITY IN ACTION ♻️🌿💚
Sustainability is part of our everyday learning here at Little Wonders ELC!
Our children have been caring for our environment by watering our gardens, looking after our worm farm and exploring creativity through loose parts play with recycled donated materials. These meaningful experiences help foster respect for nature whilst encouraging curiosity, exploration and environmental responsibility.

NAIDOC WEEK 2026 ❤️🖤💛
Yesterday we joined Shellharbour City Council for their NAIDOC week community event, engaging in smoking ceremony, art, music and dance and cultural stories.

We are very grateful to strengthen our community connections, celebrate First Nation culture, histories and stories and continue our journey of learning, respect and reconciliation 🌿

🐝🪲 INSECT WEEK 🦋🪰
Last week we acknowledged insect week across the centre through a variety of hands on learning experiences across each age group. The children developed a deeper understanding of types of insects, their habitats and lifecycles and how to care for our living environment. The children also created their own insect crafts which are proudly displayed across our centre which emoted further discussion and reflection on our learning experiences.

Yesterday we completed our Ready Set Go sports program for Term 2. Throughout the term, we enjoyed weekly excursions to our local oval where we participated in a variety of engaging and skill focused sporting experienced with our coach Lizzie.
