Last week 15 Aboriginal students from the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions were given the opportunity to attend a four-day Koori STEM Camp, learning how to identify their local Aboriginal cultural heritage with the connection to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The participants established a stronger sense of Identity, Connection, Pride and Empowerment to their local regions and culture, with a strong link to STEM. The camp kicked off with a traditional smoking ceremony.
