My performance experience started at the age of 15, playing with the Concorde 80 Jazz big band. From there, I met Nick Southcott, Sydney Jazz/ Latin pianist who I later performed and studied with in Jazz ensemble at the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music. Around this time, I received drum lessons from virtuoso Sydney Jazz drummer Dave Goodman and attended workshops with renowned Australian drummer, David Jones. I have performed live and recorded in the studio with a variety of bands, both covers and originals ranging from pop, funk, jazz, rock and punk. I was part of a local rock outfit called BRUCE! that formed in 2012. We recorded and released a full length debut album in 2013 plus a 4 song Ep in 2014 and had the privilege of sharing the stage with some legendary bands including Turbonegro (Norway), Regurgitator, The Beasts of Bourbon, King Parrot,Tumbleweed, The Cosmic Psychos, Giants of Science, Nation Blue, and many more. I played session drums for touring artist Le Pie in her live band, who's sound blends indie pop with elements of the Motown era and grunge. Her song 'Secrets' has received rotation on Triple J and also feature artist on Triple J Unearthed, with nods from Rolling Stone Magazine, Channel V, and voted #1 most played artist on FBi Radio Sydney 2015. Since I started working with Le Pie from the start of 2015 till March 2016, we toured the east coast of Australia upon the release of her Ep including festival slots at the inaugural Newtown Festival and Festival Of the Sun, Port Macquarie. I hope everyone had a Merry festivus and you're all enjoying your break! Hi All.
Just to let you all know that I'll be temporarily shutting down face-to-face drum lessons at the moment due to the Covid-19 crisis and following today's NSW non-essential services shut down announcement. However in the coming weeks I'll be setting up Skype drum lessons via a we**am next term if anyone is interested in lessons via web cam. Please let me know if you'd be interested in skype lessons as this would be a great way to keep lessons afloat during this period. Thanks so much for all the support thus far this year and I hope you all stay safe and well through this challenging time.
