Exploring Indigenous symbols through hands on play. Hands on exploration is such a powerful way for young minds to connect with stories and symbols. By carefully placing each tile on the lines, the children aren’t just practicing precision and patience, they are actively engaging with cultural storytelling 👣🍂

Goodstart Kanahooka is All In for Reconciliation! 🖤💛❤️
For National Reconciliation Week, our children, educators, and families proudly joined the Sea of Hearts Movement!
Initiated by Connecting the Dots Through Culture, this beautiful movement brings communities together by asking a simple but powerful question:
“What does Reconciliation mean to you?”
We invited our families, extended kin, and educators to get creative and decorate their own hearts. Together, they form a "sea" of community voices, reflections, and commitments to walking together.
As the creators beautifully put it, "This movement was never meant to stay inside one gate... It was always meant to ripple through communities, conversations and hearts." By fostering these connections with our little ones—our Future Old People—we are building a future grounded in respect and unity.

Our 3–5 year olds created some amazing prints using, templates, glue, screen boxes and chalk. What looked like simple craft time was actually a chance to build coordination, fine motor skills, focus, creative thinking and explore cause and effect all through hands on play.
