Jodi played flute at her first wedding ceremony in 1991 in a historic stone church where the sounds of the flute reverberated off the ancient walls as the beautiful bride walked the red carpet to her waiting groom. Since then she has played a number of wedding ceremonies in Sydney, Shoalhaven, Southern Highlands, as well as the Illawarra, both as a solo artist and as part of a group. In addition t
o playing for wedding ceremonies, Jodi has been a member of various youth and regional orchestras, played at university open days, graduation ceremonies, at business functions, and at cocktail parties. As well as completing a Bachelor of Creative Arts in music performance, Jodi has been taught by some of Australia's finest flute teachers, including:
Douglas Mackie, principal flautist in the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra,
Rosamund Plummer, principal piccolo player in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra,
Alison Mitchell, currently principal flautist in the Scottish Symphony Orchestra, and
Laura Chislett-Jones, recording artist renowed for her interpretations of modern western art music. Musical Interlude offers flute tuition in a range of musical styles, catering for beginner students to advanced.
