Brogo Permaculture Gardens Autumn PDC 2022, The Crossing Land Education Centre, Bermagui.
It’s with much gratitude, to again have the opportunity to work with John Champagne on his 49th Permaculture Design Course.
Over the past two days a talented and enthusiastic group have journeyed through our design process with wonderful success.
These folk demonstrated a clear understanding of our design tools to produce quality designs.
It’s inspiring to know we have another 16 burgeoning Permaculturalists heading out to create positive change in the world.

The rich harvest from a state forest pine plantation in mid December 2021 is a sure indicator of climate change.
Low overnight temperatures and consistent rainfall over early December contributed to this bounty.
Saffron milk caps (Lactarius deliciosus) and sticky paper daisies (Xerochrysum viscosum) an early summer gift.

The return to school for the Garden Ambassadors at Tarrawanna Public School has been a series of joyful experiences.
Harvesting a bounty of winter vegetables, building the soil and sowing Summer crops also means
Getting hands in the soil, feet in the bathtub of magic mineral rich potion and lungfuls of sweet garden air.
With hearts singing, minds clear and spirits free, the children’s laughter rings within the cornucopia of Tarrawanna Public School’s Living Classroom...

At the base of Hill 60, upon the latite intrusion that formed the Berkeley Hills, lies a verdant ecology of food, fibre, fodder, forage and fun.
A shelter belt planting of coastal native edibles and medicine, provides a nurturing microclimate for this thriving arrangement of annual and perennial plants.
The young folk of Five Islands Secondary College are the mobile elements of this urban Permaculture system.
Over the past few weeks they have been synthesising the Permaculture theory with their hands deep within the soil and their feet firmly on the ground.
These inspiring people continue to lead the transition of the community based on positivism and regenerative practices.

Growing comfortably in a nook of Port Kembla suburbia, St Patrick’s Living Classroom is a pulsing cornucopia of annual and perennial food.
This gem of a school, welcomes the families to collaborate with the Garden Ambassadors.
Today, one of the babas is baking traditional Macedonian pastries in the wood fired brick oven. Small groups of Garden Ambassadors pulsed into the rustic outdoor kitchen to prepare the tasty savoury snacks with baba.
On the oven was the talented local St Patrick’s Primary School Permaculture teacher, Sam Mattas, who also excels in the garden.
This little primary school is an exemplary Living Classroom model, and champion for both Catholic and public schools.
