Our little chefs had a wonderful time helping to make focaccia for our June Fables Family Flavours experience! ๐๐ฟ
From measuring and mixing ingredients to pressing the dough and adding toppings, the children were involved in every step of the process. Cooking experiences provide opportunities to develop confidence, strengthen fine motor skills and explore early mathematical concepts in a meaningful and engaging way.
The best part? Enjoying the finished product together! The children absolutely loved sharing their homemade focaccia as part of late afternoon snack, taking great pride in tasting something they had created themselves. ๐
Fables on the Mountain
Fables on the Mountain caters for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years of age and is located in Mount Kembla.
Today we had a beautiful spontaneous creative experience outdoors ๐จโ๏ธ
One child was inspired by the hammerhead shark and fish design on a friendโs t-shirt and began drawing their own version freehand. Recognising the childrenโs strong interest, educators supported the experience by photocopying the drawing so it could be used as a stencil for others to explore.
The children were then able to trace, colour and create their own marine-inspired artwork, building on a shared idea that grew naturally from their play. ๐ฆ๐
This experience supported creativity, collaboration, fine motor development and confidence, while celebrating childrenโs ideas and interests in a meaningful way.

Life lessons in action ๐ด๐ฟ
As part of our Life Lessons experiences, our Fairy Wrens will begin taking turns assisting in the kitchen to help prepare lunch for the rooms โจ
From stirring and mixing to preparing ingredients and learning about food, these hands-on opportunities support children to build independence, confidence and practical life skills in meaningful ways.
We love creating real opportunities for children to contribute, take responsibility and feel proud of being active members of our centre community ๐

Yesterday our babies enjoyed exploring a new sensory experience โ chia slime! ๐๐
From squishing and scooping to carefully investigating the different textures, our little learners were fully engaged in this hands-on activity. Even our youngest bubbas joined in on the fun, exploring the sensory tray in their own unique ways. โจ
Sensory play supports curiosity, fine motor development and early learning, all while creating opportunities for joy, discovery and connection.

Our children love snack time when theyโre in charge! ๐๐ฅ๐
Using leftover morning tea as part of our Munch & Move snack break, children are encouraged to self-serve their food, choose what theyโd like to eat and decide how much they need for their growing bodies.
These everyday routines help children develop independence, confidence, decision-making skills and an understanding of healthy eating habits, all while reducing food waste.
Itโs always wonderful to see the pride on their faces as they serve themselves and enjoy snack time with their friends. ๐
Today we celebrated National Simultaneous Storytime in two special ways across our service ๐๐
Our Fairy Wrens children enjoyed a wonderful visit to Mount Kembla Public School, where they joined in listening to this yearโs story alongside the school students. It was such a lovely opportunity to build connections with the school community and share the joy of reading together.
Meanwhile, our Little Miners children listened to the story while resting peacefully on their beds, creating a calm and cosy storytelling experience during rest time.
National Simultaneous Storytime is a beautiful reminder of how stories can bring us together, spark imagination and foster a love of literacy from an early age.

This morning, two of our Fables Circle members showed such beautiful kindness and empathy within our community ๐โ
After noticing the builders working hard in the rain yesterday, the children asked if we could make them coffees this morning. They carefully took everyoneโs coffee orders, helped throughout the whole process of making the coffees and proudly hand delivered them to the builders.
Of course, no cafรฉ experience would be complete without a quick taste test of the wafers before delivery! ๐ซ๐
Moments like these remind us how capable, thoughtful and caring children can be when given opportunities to connect with their community in meaningful ways.
Last week we proudly hosted our very own Biggest Morning Tea celebration with a special afternoon tea for the children and families ๐โ
Our children had so much fun helping to bake delicious treats to share, with families invited to enjoy some goodies for a gold coin donation. Together, we raised an amazing $200 for Cancer Council!
The children enjoyed a beautiful banquet-style afternoon tea filled with baked treats, fresh fruit and warm hot chocolates shared with friends. ๐๐ง๐ซ
Thank you to all of our wonderful families for supporting such an important cause and helping us make the day so special. Every donation makes a difference! ๐

๐Along with our current Quality Rating, all families can now see the last 2 years of the centres Compliance history! Families are able to request further information on any non-compliance (which thankfully, we donโt have!) These new rules are to ensure centres are transparent with families when choosing the centre that will care for their child! ๐
