Figtree High School took 55 students to the Bring it on Sports Southern Highlands Flag Football Gala Day.

With the majority of Figtree Teams in finals, the results were as follows:

- U15s Boys (Year 8) finished 7th winning the Spoon Bowl against Airds High School 🥄

- U16s Boys (Year 10) won the Bronze Medal 🥉 beating Moss Vale High

- U15s Girls (Year 8+9) finished with silver medal 🥈just losing to Trinity Catholic College in the Grand Final 6-0. It was the only point scored against them all day.

- U15s Boys (Year 9) 🏆 Champions beating Trinity Catholic College

- U18s Boys (Year 11) 🏆 Champions beating Trinity Catholic College

A huge Congratulations to our U15s Boys and U18s Boys who will now progress to a Champion of Champions Tournament in Term 4.

Many of these teams will be competing next Monday in Wollongong, and will be looking to add to their medal tally.

A huge thank you to Mr Riolo and Mr Adams for organising the day and congratulations again to our Champions.

Today during lunch 1 and 2 students were engaged in a scavenger hunt for Bullying No Way. Students needed to find the smiley stickers which had been placed around the school and then obtain their prize from the board. Five lucky students won $20 vouchers.

When Adam Sargent-Wilson isn't teaching at Figtree High School - Official, he's coaching the future of Australian rugby league! 🏉

Nine NSW public school students earned a place in his Australian Schoolboys squad, continuing the public system's long history of producing NRL talent.

A PE teacher and careers advisor with more than 20 years’ experience, Mr Sargent-Wilson has also spent many years deeply embedded in school rugby league.

From school teams to convening the South Coast region, and then the NSW Combined High Schools coach/convenor, he’s now entering his second year in the key national role.

The Australian Schoolboys will play a match in Papua New Guinea in the October school holidays, a fixture that includes a high commission visit, a war memorial ceremony, and a community rugby league session, reflecting the sport's deep cultural significance in PNG.

This year's nine NSW public school selections span a strong cross-section of the system, from established sports high schools to comprehensive schools with storied rugby league histories:

BULLYING NO WAY WEEK 🧡Small Acts, Big Impact

This week is 'Bullying No Way' Week, and FHS is reminding everyone that even the smallest actions can make a BIG difference.

🏐 EVERY DAY
Each day during Period 1, students will participate in a short activity focused on creating a kinder, safer and more inclusive school.

🏐 TUESDAY – VOLLEYBALL
Students get the opportunity to mix it up, meet someone new and socialise! Each team MUST include students from at least FOUR different year groups.

🎯 THURSDAY – THE 50 COMPETITION!
Students have the chance to win a prize by getting involved in spreading some kindness through FHS. Prizes include: $20 vouchers; Cupcakes; Zooper Doopers; Kindness badges …and more! More details to follow.

Year 9 Ski Trip Update:
Day 2 was a bluebird day! The students had plenty of fun in the sun testing out their new skills and exploring more of the mountain.

Congratulations to our U14 Boys Rugby 7s team. Competing on Tuesday at the South Coast Championships, the boys played with tremendous heart, many playing rugby for the first time.

They came up just short in the Major Semi Final, finishing the day 3rd overall.

Yesterday, Year 9 Drama students performed at the prestigious Intersection Drama Festival put on by the Australian Theatre for Young People in Sydney.

Congratulations to Lily, Vindiv, Molly and Andi on being selected to perform at the festival.

A big thank you to Ms Lloyd and Ms Mintzas for recognising the talent of our Drama students in entering them in this Australian wide competition.
