This morning, the Sunflowers took part in an exciting obstacle course! ๐ŸŒŸ

The experience supported the childrenโ€™s gross motor skills as they crawled, balanced, climbed, and jumped their way through the course. Each child had a turn when their name was called, and the tunnel was definitely the highlight of the morning! ๐ŸŒˆ

Our Sunflowers are getting so good at using their gross motor skills โ€” itโ€™s wonderful to see their confidence and coordination growing each day! ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŒป

Last week we had a very special visit from our friend Sam at Reptiles on the Go! ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿ๐ŸฆŽ๐Ÿข

Sam brought along some incredible reptiles and shared fascinating facts with us. Did you knowโ€ฆ

๐ŸŸข The โ€œbabyโ€ crocodile was actually 6 years old! In NSW, crocodiles grow more slowly because of the colder weather.
๐ŸŸข The snake was a constrictor, which means itโ€™s non-venomous and has no teeth.
๐ŸŸข The blue tongue lizard enjoys snacking on berries and tomatoes.
๐ŸŸข A turtleโ€™s shell is actually part of its skeleton.

The children (and educators!) loved learning about these amazing creatures. Using their gentle โ€œpatting fingers,โ€ they explored the different textures of the reptiles with care and curiosity.

A big thank you to Sam from Reptiles on the Go for bringing another year of learning and fun to our centre! ๐ŸŒŸ

Talk Like a Pirate Day Fun! ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธโœจ

Friday was filled with pirate adventures and laughter! The children joined in on a treasure hunt, bravely walked the wooden plank, and got creative making their own pirate hats. They enjoyed sitting in the pirate ship, showing off their face paint, and fully embracing their pirate characters.

It was a fantastic day of fun and imagination โ€“ thank you to all our little pirates for making it so special! ๐Ÿฆœโš“๏ธ

Today the Sunflowers kicked off our Soccer Joeys program! โšฝ๏ธ๐ŸŒป

The children were excited to meet Coach Steve and learn some of the fundamentals of soccer. They practised skills such as keeping the ball still with their foot, rolling and kicking, aiming for the goal, balancing, and of courseโ€”remembering the golden rule of using no hands!

The Sunflowers listened beautifully, encouraged one another, and had so much fun being part of a team.

So proud of all the children who participated! ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ’™

We canโ€™t wait to continue building our skills and confidence in next weekโ€™s!

โœจ This morning we were wowed by The Magic Man โ€“ Peter Wood!
From colourful bandaids that vanished into thin air, to wands turning into sausages, scarves jumping shirts, a dove from a book, and even a real bunny rabbit โ€“ the magic just kept coming!

The children (and educators!) were full of smiles, laughter, and amazement.
Thank you, Peter, for an unforgettable show! ๐ŸŽฉ๐Ÿ‡โœจ

Book Week at Play Base was bursting with imagination, fun, and creativity! ๐Ÿ“š

The children enjoyed a week full of exciting activities that truly brought stories to life.

We explored new books & old books โ€“ including The Rainbow Fish, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Weโ€™re Going on a Bear Hunt, Where is the Green Sheep?, Room on the Broom and many more!

One of the highlights was seeing the children proudly dress up as their favourite characters โ€“ and of course, the educators joining in the fun too. The joy and excitement on everyoneโ€™s faces made Book Week extra special!

๐Ÿฆ‹โœจ Butterfly Wings Exploration ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŽจ

This morning, our curious little Lillies came up one by one to help decorate our beautiful new butterfly wings! ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ๐Ÿฆ‹ The children chose from a variety of colourful paint pens to add their own creative touches. They were so excited, asking questions and wondering what the wings would be used for later in the day.

Later on, the Lillies got to try on their brand new wings! ๐Ÿงšโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿงšโ€โ™‚๏ธ They were fascinated by the colourful patterns the wings cast onto the floor, pointing and proudly naming the colours: โ€œred!โ€ โ€œblue!โ€ โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒˆ Some of our friends even turned it into a fun gameโ€”jumping to each colour and calling it out with big smiles on their faces.

Miss Sara had prepared the wings by cutting out cardboard into butterfly shapes and adding various cut-out patterns. Cellophane was then carefully placed in the openings ๐Ÿช„. When sunlight shone through the wings , the cellophane filtered the light and projected vibrant colours onto the groundโ€”creating a magical, rainbow-filled play space ๐ŸŒˆ

What a wonderful way to combine creativity, colour recognition, and imaginative play! ๐ŸŽจ

Thank you Miss Sara ๐Ÿฉท

๐Ÿ“˜ Check out our Play Base School Readiness Program Book!

Our little learners are LOVING having their very own workshop book to bring to their daily lessons with Miss Nat! ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿซโœ๏ธ

Theyโ€™ve been busy getting kindy ready โ€” building those fine motor skills ๐Ÿ’ช, improving hand-eye coordination ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿคฒ, and recognising letters and numbers ๐Ÿ”ค๐Ÿ”ข.

Thanks to our small centre and intimate group sizes, each child receives focused attention and a more personalised learning experience. ๐Ÿ’›

Kindy, here we come! ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ’™ ๐Ÿ’™โœจ
