Yesterday the children of 1A visited the Wollongong City Library πas part of one of our special library visits. With the help of our parent volunteers, we walked safely through the streets holding hands and learning to use public transport π to travel to and from the library.
We enjoyed a lovely story session with music and actions, followed by a craft activity and the opportunity to borrow books. Spending time in our community and exploring the library was a fantastic learning experience for everyone. An extra special big thank you π to our parent volunteers for your support!

Our primary classes are multi-age, giving our students the opportunity to learn from others and the flexibility to develop their own personality at their own pace.
Students generally stay with the same teacher for three years, creating stronger teacher to student bonds π€ and a deeper understanding of your child's strengths πͺ where they need to be challenged & extended, and when extra support could benefit their learning journey. There was plenty of fun in the kitchen today as students from Years 8 & 9 made pizzas for the high school community πas part of the Occupations cooking class π
Each term, students have the chance to pick a new occupation to participate in and learn some new skills like gardening, community service, band or arts and crafts. Occupations Classes provide our students with the opportunity to engage in physical hands-on learning π which is a fundamental concept of Montessori learning.

We are so proud to be an IB World School π« offering both the IB Diploma Programme and IB Career Related Programme to our Year 11 and Year 12 students, helping them to achieve their goals π― and prepare for a changing world π
The IB was proud to participate in the Education World Forum this week, joining global education leaders gathering in London around this yearβs theme: βEducating for a Shared Future: Peace, Planet, Purpose and Pathways.β
Throughout the week, our message was clear: Preparing Young People for a World Without Easy Answers. In a rapidly changing world, education must go beyond the transmission of knowledge.
As IB Director General Olli-Pekka Heinonen shared from the eventβs main stage, young people need the ability to navigate complexity with judgment, purpose and action.
Heinonen shared publicly for the first time that the IB will move forward with a new offering that has been in a pilot phase called Systems Transformation, a double-credit Diploma Programme course that connects ideas and action across disciplines, empowering the next generation to shape a more peaceful, sustainable and interconnected future. The next expanded pilot phase will begin in 2028, with a global roll-out planned for 2030.
