During Science Week, our Stage 1A children explored simple science experiments through hands-on, self-directed discovery. They observed, questioned, predicted and discovered as they explored changes in colour, texture, movement and materials. A wonderful week of curiosity, exploration and learning through experience, following the Montessori approach. 🌿🔍

⏰The countdown is on to the annual Elonera Twilight Markets, and our students are getting busy with stall preparations. The green thumbs of our gardening 🪴occupations group (years 7-9) will be running Spout House for all your herb and seedling needs 🌱so make sure to visit their stall on the day!

An opportunity for our parents to attend a very special Montessori Parent Education
Session, where your children will be the hosts and guides.
The children will present a range of Montessori materials and share their learning with you – a wonderful opportunity to see the method through their eyes 👁️For Nido through to Stages 1-3. More details coming soon.

In the Montessori age 3–6 classroom, Sensorial activities help children explore, discover and understand the world through their senses🖐️👁️👂👅👃

Through carefully designed, hands-on materials, children learn to observe, compare, match, grade, sort and classify qualities such as size, shape, colour, texture, sound, weight and temperature. These activities encourage children to notice details, recognise differences and similarities, and develop a deeper understanding of their environment.

Ever wondered about the three-hour work cycle? 🙋
It is a fundamental aspect of the Montessori approach, providing children with an uninterrupted period of time (3 hours, 9am - 12pm) to engage in purposeful, self-directed learning. During this time, students choose activities based on their interests and developmental needs, fostering deep concentration, independence, and intrinsic motivation.

If you are free this coming Saturday (15/8) between 1-4pm it is definitely not too late to join this term's community working bee 🐝🐝🐝
What To Bring:
✅Gardening or work gloves
✅Hat, water bottle
✅Pad for kneeling on to do some gardening
✅Small had trowel, pruning sheers
✅Shovel
