Tomorrow is our Book Week celebration! Remember to dress up as your favourite book character and join in the fun!

We can do it just as well as our Year 12s, who celebrated Book Week by visiting some of our COS schools and taking part in reading groups with the students.

We can’t wait to see everyone’s fantastic costumes tomorrow!

Huge congratulations to Max S, who represented NSW at the National Swimming Championships, a fantastic achievement in itself!

Max delivered outstanding results in the pool, taking out 1st place in the 200m Breaststroke and finishing 2nd in the 100m Breaststroke, competing against the best swimmers from across the country.

To make it to Nationals is an incredible feat of dedication and hard work, and to medal in not one but two events is a testament to Max's talent and commitment to the sport. We are all incredibly proud of this outstanding achievement.

Well done, Max! a great result for you and for NSW!

What an incredible achievement in the Stan Jones Tennis Final! They finished 5th in the State and an amazing 3rd among comprehensive high schools in the State, making it their 5th straight State Final! Such an outstanding effort and something to be incredibly proud of.

HSC exams have officially started! Congratulations to Kevin on completing his HSC Languages examination on Saturday!

Congratulations to Chloe D, Tully M and Axel C, who represented our school at the State Cross Country Championships. It's a fantastic achievement to qualify for state-level competition, and all three should be proud of their efforts.

A special mention to Axel, who finished an outstanding 6th overall in the state and 2nd in CHS, a brilliant result. Well done, Axel!

Late on Friday night, our Year 11 students returned home from an incredible ski trip. Students had the opportunity to learn more about skiing and snowboarding, challenge themselves, build confidence and, most importantly, have plenty of fun along the way!

A huge well done to all students as they embraced the experience and pushed themselves out of their comfort zones. Keep an eye out for a video recap of the trip coming soon!

Yesterday, our school came together for a special assembly to recognise and celebrate NAIDOC Week, reflecting on its importance and the opportunity it provides to honour the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We were privileged to be joined by Uncle Ron Simpson and Jessie Lowe, who led a meaningful Smoking Ceremony and shared their knowledge and culture with our school community. We thank them for their generosity and guidance.

NAIDOC Week celebrations continue throughout the week, with a range of activities for students to learn, connect and celebrate:

Wednesday – Northern Illawarra Combined Schools NAIDOC Big Breakfast
Thursday – Imagine film screening with Jack Bancroft
Friday – Dance Workshop

We look forward to celebrating together as we continue to learn, listen and walk together in the spirit of NAIDOC Week.

Day 2 of the State Volleyball Championships saw another great performance from both of Keira High School’s teams.

The girls began the day with a fantastic win in their first match, earning the opportunity to play for 5th or 6th place in the state. In a closely contested final game between two evenly matched teams, they were narrowly defeated. Despite the result, the girls finished an incredible 6th in NSW – the highest placing ever achieved by a Keira High School volleyball team.

The boys unfortunately came up against two exceptionally strong opponents on the second day and were unable to secure a win. They finished the competition 8th in NSW, an impressive result that improves on last year’s state championships by three places.

Congratulations to both teams on representing Keira High School with pride. To finish among the top volleyball teams in the state is a remarkable accomplishment, and everyone involved should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved.
