World Skills Auto Body Repair Regional competition was held onsite this week in our state of the art auto panel workshop. 5 of our young apprentices took on the challenge of competing in this regional competition. It wasn't so much about competing against each other rather more about pushing themselves as individuals - testing their own trade skills and knowledge. Encouraged by their master teacher, Cam and Auto Head Teacher Kirk, to be the best versions of themselves, do your best 👍💪🔨🪛 it was great to watch 👀them in action.

Although my ears 👂are still slightly ringing with all that banging and tapping 🔨going on!!!😮🤭😂

The Regional Competition has been designed for competitors to demonstrate skills that would normally be encountered in the Automotive Service and Repair Sector. A specific project is designed for the competitors to demonstrate their skills including: Cutting, removal and joining, Spot welding, Edge alignment, Staggering and GMAW / MAG Welding - all within a time limit ⌛ of 6 hours! 😮 All that in only 6 hours - no wonder the guys were sweating and slightly stressed, however they pushed through to the finish.

A big shout out 📣to each of the young apprentices for having a red hot go!
I hear there was some excellent results.
Cameron and Kirk were extremely proud of you for what you each achieved and for how you supported each other along the way. 👏👏👏👏👏
