📚✨ What a Book Parade! ✨📚

The weather may have moved us into the gym this morning, but it definitely didn’t dampen the Book Week spirit! We had an incredible turnout from students and staff alike, and we think this might just have been our biggest costume turnout yet. 🎭👏

A huge thank you to all of our parents, caregivers and students for the creativity, effort and enthusiasm that went into the costumes. We could absolutely tell how much work had gone into them, and it paid off beautifully.

We love celebrating all things books here at WPS, and today was such a fun reminder of the imagination and joy stories can bring to school life. 💛

Enjoy the slideshow and see how many characters you can spot! 📖✨

🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️ Can you lend a hand at our Father’s Day Stall? 🎁

Our Father’s Day Stall is coming up on Thursday 3 September, and a few extra helping hands would make a huge difference!

We’re looking for volunteers between 9am and 3pm, but you absolutely don’t need to stay all day. Even an hour or two helping students choose gifts, keep tables stocked and keep things moving would be greatly appreciated.

We’d also love some help with:
📦 Wednesday 2 September for set-up
🎁 Thursday 3 September for the main stall
🧹 Friday 4 September for final sales and pack-down

All volunteers will need a current Working With Children Check, and a light lunch will be provided for those helping on Thursday.

💳A Working with Children Check (WWCC) for volunteer work is free of charge in Victoria:
https://service.vic.gov.au/services/working-with-children/home

👉 If you can spare even one hour, please put your hand up and register your availability via the Google Form. Every extra helper means a smoother, more enjoyable stall for our students.

It’s always such a fun day, and the kids get a real kick out of choosing something special for the important people in their lives. ❤️

Can you help? Fill out the form today and let us know when you’re available.

💜 What a week for Bullying, No Way! Week at WPS!

Our students have been getting involved in activities that explored kindness, inclusion, respectful choices and the impact our words and actions can have on others.

From wrinkled hearts and ripple effects to friendship bracelets, diversity activities and plenty of bubbles, there have been lots of thoughtful conversations and fun moments along the way. 💛

We hope students finish the week with one simple message that sticks:
Kindness costs nothing, but it can change someone’s whole day. 💜

🎤 Meet Our Student Leaders: Sidney & Annabel ❤️💙

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Sidney and Annabel, two of our student leaders who helped drive the idea behind House Colours Transfers and turn it into something the whole school could be part of.

From putting the idea forward to helping bring it to life, they’ve shown exactly what great student leadership can look like: having an idea, stepping up, following through and creating something that helps others feel included and connected. 🌟

A huge round of applause for Sidney and Annabel for getting out there, showing up and being such wonderful role models for our students. 👏👏

Have a watch and leave them a little encouragement in the comments!

🎭📚 Book Week Dress-Up Parade | Tuesday 25 August

Time to raid the dress-up box and get creative!
Students are invited to come to school on Tuesday dressed as their favourite book character for our WPS Book Week Parade.

🕘 Parade: 9:10am
📍 Courtyard
🌧️ If the weather isn’t on our side, the parade will move to the gym.

Families are most welcome to come and watch!
Costumes definitely don’t need to be fancy or expensive. Homemade, borrowed and brilliantly improvised creations are all welcome. The fun is in choosing a character and joining in!

This weekend is the perfect chance to start plotting costumes.
We can’t wait to see who steps out of the pages on Tuesday! 📚✨
