🏉 Sevens Rugby Carnival Success! 🏉
Yesterday, St Catherine’s proudly sent teams to the BCE 7s Rugby Carnival. For many of our students, it was their first experience playing this fast-paced and exciting contact sport, and they embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, determination, and great sportsmanship.
Our students were outstanding throughout the day and enjoyed a very successful carnival. A huge thank you to Mrs Knight, Miss Howie and Mr Retchford for coaching and supporting our teams, and to the many parents who came along to cheer on the students and show their support.
A special congratulations to Ada, Amelia and Georgia, who joined with students from St Mary’s Beaudesert to form a combined Under 12 Girls team. The girls played exceptionally well and went on to WIN the Under 12 Girls competition! 🏆👏
Well done to all of our players for representing St Catherine’s with pride, teamwork, and excellent sportsmanship. 💙💛

Our Fete Sweet Stall and Cake Stall need your support!
This week, families will be invited to nominate items they can prepare and donate for these popular stalls. Packaging materials will be sent home closer to fete day, making it easy for everyone to get involved.
Every slice, cupcake, biscuit, lolly bag, and sweet treat helps make our fete a success. We simply can’t run a fantastic community fete without the generous support of our St Catherine’s families.
📅 Nominations are open next week
📋 Check out the posters below for suggested items and nomination details.
Thank you in advance for helping us create a delicious and successful fete for our school community. Your support is greatly appreciated! 💙💛

On Tuesday, our Years 3 to 6 students enjoyed a fantastic day of competition and camaraderie at the Interhouse Sports Carnival held at QSAC. Throughout the day, students proudly represented their House teams, cheering enthusiastically for one another and demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship both on and off the field.
It was wonderful to witness students striving to achieve their personal best in every event. Whether competing on the track or in the field, students embraced challenges, celebrated successes, and triumphed in reaching many personal goals. Their determination, resilience, and positive attitudes were a credit to themselves and our school community.
A huge thank you to Mrs Tanya Knight for her exceptional organisation and for coordinating another smooth and successful carnival. We also extend our sincere appreciation to all staff members for their assistance throughout the day. Finally, thank you to the many parents and family members who came along to support our students and share in the wonderful spirit of the carnival. Your encouragement helped make the day a memorable celebration of participation, achievement, and House pride.
Age Champions will be announced at assembly on Friday 26 June, 8:40am, in the Nano Nagle Centre.

🌟 Year 5 Steps Back in Time at the Eureka Gold Rush! 🌟
Our Year 5 students enjoyed an unforgettable journey into Australia's past during their recent excursion to the Eureka Gold Rush at Bahrs Scrub.
Dressed in clothing from the period, students truly embraced life on the goldfields as they panned for gold, bartered at the exchange, experienced time in gaol, and took part in many other hands-on activities that brought history to life. Through these immersive experiences, students gained a deeper understanding of the challenges, opportunities, and daily realities faced by those who lived during the Gold Rush era.
It was a day filled with learning, laughter, and adventure, giving our students a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience history beyond the classroom.
⛏️💰 Well done to our Year 5 students for their enthusiasm, participation, and willingness to embrace every aspect of goldfields life!

Our youngest St Catherine’s students had a wonderful day at the Junior Athletics Carnival, and we couldn’t be prouder! From Prep to Year 2, students demonstrated outstanding behaviour, showing respect, encouragement and great sportsmanship throughout the entire event.
It was fantastic to see every student giving their personal best in each activity—whether running, jumping or participating in novelty events. Just as special was the way they cheered on and championed one another, celebrating every effort and achievement with big smiles and loud support. The pride they showed in themselves and their classmates truly reflected the spirit of our community.
A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Tanya Knight, our HPE Teacher, for organising such a well-run and enjoyable day. We also extend our sincere thanks to the St Catherine’s staff for their support and assistance in ensuring everything ran smoothly.
Thank you to our parents and families who attended to cheer on the children and share in the spirit of the day. It was also lovely to welcome our St Catherine’s C&K children who joined us—your enthusiasm added to the joy of the carnival!
Well done to all our students—you were amazing! 👏💛

A special mention goes to the following students, who received a merit for scoring 4.5 points or more.

Around Our School...
This term, our Year 2 and Year 3 students have been busy exploring the exciting world of Drama! Through fun games, storytelling, and creative activities, students have been building their confidence, imagination, and performance skills.
In Year 2, students participated in fun engaging activities using their voice, body and facial expressions. They learnt how to perform and be respectful audience members. Students also explored simple improvisation, working together to create and act out ideas.
In Year 3, students dived into poetry, rehearsing and performing chosen poems and then creating their own imaginative pieces and bringing them to life through performance. They have enjoyed writing their very own acrostic poems and sharing their ideas in creative and engaging ways.
It’s been wonderful to see students growing in confidence, supporting each other, and having lots of fun along the way. We are so proud of their creativity and enthusiasm!
