📚 Wishart State School Book Week Costume & Accessories Loop Swap! ♻️

With the Book Week Parade coming up on Friday, 28th August, we are launching a costume and accessory loop swap to support our school community and reduce waste!

Got old Book Week costumes taking up space? Looking for a new outfit for your child? Give past costumes a second life and save on buying new ones!

📍 Where & When:

* Uniform Shop (Drop Off / Swap):
Mondays & Tuesdays: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Fridays: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

* School Library (Drop Off ONLY) (See Mrs Morgan):
Wednesdays & Thursday: before and after school hours

✨ Donation Guidelines:

* Book Week Themes Only: Please only donate items directly related to Book Week costumes or accessories.
* Condition: Outfits must be clean, and in good/wearable condition.

🙌 Extra Help Needed:

* Kids’ Coat Hangers: If you have spare child-sized hangers to donate, please drop them off with your costume donations.
* Portable Clothes Racks: If you have a portable garment rack we can borrow for the swap, please send an email to [email protected].

Wishart Sport // Outstanding Achievement 🎉🎉🎉

Earlier this year, Jones competed at both the Oceania Kung Fu Championship and the Australian National Kung Fu Championship.

These events provided athletes with the opportunity to showcase their skill, precision and artistry in a highly competitive environment.

Jones performed exceptionally well, winning two silver medals while representing Australia! 🥈🥈🇦🇺

This is an incredible achievement and a fantastic example of a Wishart State School student competing successfully on both the national and international stage.

Well done, Jones! We are very proud of you! 👏🎉

Wishart Sport // Outstanding Achievement 🎉🎉🎉

Earlier in the term, Sarp represented the Metropolitan East Regional U12 Boys Tennis Team at the 2026 Queensland Representative School Sport State Tennis Championships 🎾

Sarp competed in several ties throughout the tournament, going up against some of the best student athletes from the 11 other regions across Queensland 💪

In the doubles competition, Sarp and his partner produced an outstanding performance to finish as runners-up and claim a silver medal! 🥈

Maybe one day we’ll see Sarp competing at the Brisbane International or even the Australian Open!

Well done, Sarp, on representing Wishart State School, Mount Gravatt District and the Metropolitan East Region on the state stage.

FATHER'S DAY STALL //
The P&C are excited to once again be running our annual Father's Day Stall on 2 and 3 September. We look forward to seeing many Wishart SS students visit the stall to choose a special gift for their dad, grandfather, or another important figure in their lives.

Looking for a fun way to stay active and compete against students from across Brisbane? The Brisbane School Handball Tournament is coming up, and Wishart families are invited to take part!
