Another night of practice under the belt!

Fine-tuning something new, putting some focused work into the tricky bits of La Cumparsita, and then a crisp run-through of one we haven’t played for a while — B**r Barrel Polka.

Were we rusty? Yes. 😂 But that’s what rehearsals are for!

Another great night of rehearsals! 🎶

We ran through some old favourites and new repertoire, fine-tuning the details that take our tunes to new heights.

And excitingly, we made the final decisions on the set list for our upcoming annual show!

June rehearsal and we were in great form!

We spent some time drilling sections of La Cumparsita before enjoying a cracking full run-through.

We’ve also started work on a couple of new pieces: Baby Elephant Walk from Hatari! and Zirkus Renz by Gustav Peter.

We’re looking forward to hearing these pieces come together over the coming months.

Rehearsal number… honestly, we’ve lost count for the year already 😅

A great session all the same — plenty of drilling, fine-tuning, and full run-throughs of some favourites. We also revisited one from the archives, Sobre las Olas (Over the Waves), with our end-of-year show in mind 🪗🎶

We enjoyed World Accordion Day a little early this year, playing a short set at the Accordion Society of Australia (Vic Branch) celebrations 🎶

It was fantastic to perform and to hear a host of amazing accordion students, the stunning Sanfona, the Hills Accord ensemble, the ASA Victoria Orchestra, and the Mortadella Bellas. So many accordions in one place!

From the archives: Bella Ciao, performed during our 2019 Kabarett Goes Mexican show. We love shaping our repertoire to the themes of our annual signature performance - and yes, we clearly don’t mind a bit of costuming either 🪗🎭✨
