Growing More Than Gardens

Last week, our Home for All Team rolled up their sleeves and got to work around the school grounds, planting new greenery and helping care for our garden spaces.

A huge congratulations to Luvena who was recently selected as one of the finalist for this year's Young Dobell competition with her portrait of Bow the Lorikeet on display at MAC yapang in Booragul. The Young Dobell Art Competition is a regional art competition that celebrates portraiture and landscape art. It is named after renowned Australian artist Sir William Dobell, who lived in the Lake Macquarie area and was famous for his portraits, landscapes and paintings of his beloved dogs.

How cute is this little guy!

Ted is a Story Dog, and this week he paid a special visit to our Year 1–2 students alongside his owner, Leonie. The children enjoyed listening to stories, learning about the Story Dogs program and spending time with Ted, whose calm and gentle nature made quite an impression.
Story Dogs is a wonderful volunteer-run literacy program that helps children build confidence and develop a love of reading in a supportive, non-judgemental environment

Today we welcomed leaders and specialists from Catholic Schools Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle for our Annual School Visit.

A highlight of the day was hearing directly from the children as they shared what they love about St Pius X, what helps them learn, and their hopes for the future of our school. We couldn't have been prouder of their confidence and honesty.

Thank you to the Catholic Schools team for their support and partnership as we continue working together to provide the very best learning opportunities for every child.
