Hey friends!
I’m back. It’s been a pretty wild 16 months on maternity leave, alongside navigating the grief of losing my wonderful mum quite unexpectedly while looking after two small humans. I’ll admit I’ve been in survival mode and haven’t had the energy to be online, and I didn’t want to start teaching again until I felt truly ready.
I’ve been back and forth about whether to share this here, as I’m quite private about my personal life. But to move forward, and to be able to post my usual slightly silly, happy content, I felt I wanted to acknowledge the hard as well as the good. I’m sure many of you can relate — grief doesn’t really go away. It shows up in the quiet moments, joyful moments: while driving, when a song comes on, or just as the kids are falling asleep.
Movement, hooping, and walking the dog (oh, and singing mamas, which I’ll be doing a whole deep-dive post on soon!) have been really helpful for my mental health. I’m now genuinely ready and excited to get back into the swing of teaching and hooping with you all. I truly believe we hold so much daily stress and trauma in our bodies, and that finding even a little time each week to move and release it has to be a good thing.
I’ll share details of the new class very soon (probably tomorrow).
