Throughout Term 3, our Tapangka students have had the amazing opportunity to participate in weekly work experience with Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) 🐴

Riding for the Disabled is a not-for-profit organisation providing opportunities for people with disability to participate in horse-related activities in a safe and inclusive environment, for recreation, sport and therapeutic purposes.

Every Tuesday morning until lunchtime, our students have been getting hands on experience caring for and working with the horses. Their responsibilities have included grooming, maintaining, and leading the horses, as well as cleaning stables and feeding. 🐎

This experience has been a wonderful opportunity for our students to gain practical, hands-on experience while developing a range of valuable skills. Through their work with the horses, students are building their knowledge of animal care, strengthening their communication and social skills, and learning the importance of teamwork, encouragement and working as part of a community.🤝

It has been wonderful to see our students get involved, challenge themselves and grow through this experience each week. We are incredibly grateful to Riding for the Disabled South Australia for providing such a meaningful and inclusive opportunity for our Tapangka students.

🏆Congratulations Jett!🏆

Jett has been awarded the Morgan Montgomery Memorial Trophy, which is presented to the Aldinga Beach CFS Cadet of the Year. What makes this achievement even more special is that Jett has received this award for the past two years!

Jett’s dedication, commitment and attention to detail, along with his willingness to help and guide other cadets to reach their potential, is clearly evident in this incredible achievement.

To receive the trophy once is an amazing accomplishment, but to receive it two years in a row is something truly special!

Jett is on his way to becoming a fantastic Country Firefighter, and we are proud of his efforts and commitment. 🚒

🇯🇵 It's been a couple weeks since we farewelled our new Japanese friends!

This wonderful group made such a special impression during their time with us, and we’re definitely missing them. Here are some photos from their final day at Willunga High School! 📸

Ms Thomson hosted a class party with the students, where everyone enjoyed some time together before they headed home. The group also had a go at volleyball with some of our PE classes! 🏐

Then came our farewell ceremony, where our Japanese students surprised us with a beautiful showcase of their culture and talents. They treated us to a Kendo demonstration, a traditional tea ceremony, calligraphy, and even a song and dance performance!

What a wonderful way to finish their time with us and celebrate the friendships they made along the way. Until next time👋🇯🇵

Earlier this term, some of our Dance students had the incredible opportunity to take part in a workshop with The Australian Ballet 🩰✨

The workshop focused on choreography and contemporary technique and was facilitated by an Education Teacher from The Australian Ballet, giving our students the chance to learn, explore and develop their skills alongside industry professionals.

To make the day even more special, the girls also had the opportunity to observe a class with The Australian Ballet, facilitated by Artistic Director David Hallberg! What an incredible opportunity to see professional dancers in action and gain an insight into the world of ballet at the highest level.
