Last Friday, the whole school ventured to Bendigo Science Discovery Centre. What a great day filled with curiosity and personal bests on the drop slide.

Today we were lucky to welcome Emma and Logan from Victorian Space Science Education Centre (VSSEC) to our school for an amazing hands-on incursion with our Grade 3-6 students!

Students explored concepts such as aerodynamics, pressure and flight before designing and building their very own rockets. The excitement across the oval was incredible as students launched their creations and watched them soar!

It was fantastic to see so much curiosity, teamwork and problem-solving throughout the sessions, and most importantly, so many smiles and laughs along the way.

What an egg-citing time our 3–6 students have had designing and building their egg drop contraptions! 🥚

We are so proud of the creativity, teamwork and persistence shown throughout this challenge. From planning and testing to redesigning and trying again, our students truly embraced the engineering design process.

Here are a couple of photos from the day, although we have to admit, we didn’t capture as many as we would have liked because we were having far too much fun in the moment!

✨️ What a great start to the year at Willowmavin Primary!!! ✨️

Our grade 1-6 students have settled beautifully into their new classes with smiling faces, confidence and a 'ready to learn' attitude! It's so wonderful to see everyone after the holidays and so exciting to see classrooms full of positive energy!
