Kids by the Bay acknowledge the Boonwurrung Peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the Bunurong Land on which we teach, play and learn. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.

Kids by the Bay would like to congratulate our kind and passionate kinder teacher Madeline on her marriage to the lovely Lionel.
Many of us were privileged to bear witness to the official tying of the knot and we can say these two are completely and utterly in love!

Term four program in Breakwater 3-year-old kinder is COMMUNITY HEROES! 🚨👮‍♂️
Today the children had a visit from our local police station. We discussed with officer Jordan and officer Nate how to call for an emergency, what circumstances are an emergency and how the police help the community.
We learnt that police keep our neighbourhood safe, and we can ask police for help if we get lost or if we feel unsafe.
Afterwards the children had the opportunity to sit in the police car and turn on the lights and experiment with the different siren sounds!

At the end of the visit, Jordan and Nate told the children the police really enjoy talking to people in the community and to come and say hi if they see them around.

Thank you Williamstown police department for such an educational day in which the children were able to form relationships with such important safety helpers!

Kids by the Bay were so lucky to receive the Woolworths Junior Landcare Grant!

With the grant we were able to design and plant our indigenous garden with a variety of native plants, trees and bushes.

This experience offered the children hands on experience and knowledge as they helped to dig the holes, plant the seedlings and spread the mulch. Having the funds to source plants for a native garden fostered children’s knowledge of how First Nations People use different plants for food and medicine.

Thank you Dee and Lauren from Let's Swim Swim School for visiting the Breakwater children today!

The children learnt so much about water safety such as how to signal for help, how to put on a life jacket, and safety rules around the swimming pool and at the beach.
The children were also very lucky to receive a Kids Alive water safety book to take home!

Gellibrand was busy this week building what looks to be a stadium full of players with their life-sized footy player artworks!

Today Kids by the Bay celebrated National Pyjama Day! ✨

Kids by the Bay believe that all children have the right to access an education, and strongly believe education in the early years is so vital to children’s development and learning.
National Pyjama Day raises funds for The Pyjama Foundation who facilitate educational programs for children in foster care.
