Nothing beats the feeling of seeing your child smiling and feeling confident at school.

I’m sharing this because so many parents know this feeling.

You receive an email or message about your child

and your stomach drops.

You feel embarrassed.

You feel disappointed.

You feel angry.

You feel like you need to deal with it immediately.

BUT trust me…

before you go hard on your child, pause.

Ask these questions:

👀 What actually happened?

👀 What instruction was given?

👀 Did my child understand what was expected?

👀 Was the expectation explained clearly?

👀 Was support given before the behaviour happened?

👀 What needs to happen next?

This isn’t about excusing behaviour.

It’s about understanding the full picture

so your child can be supported properly.

At Learn with Miss B, this is how we approach children.

We don’t just look at what a child did and rush to correct it.

We ask what they understood, what support they needed,

what skill might be missing, and how we can help them feel more prepared next time.

Children don’t just need adults who correct them.

They need adults who are willing to understand them,

guide them and support them properly.

If your child is struggling with confidence, learning, listening, focus,

school readiness, literacy or numeracy, our team is here to help.

Send us a message and we can chat about what support might look like for your child.

I’m embarrassed to admit this, but even after

studying teaching for 4 years and working as a

primary school teacher for another 5 years,

there were still things I didn’t fully understand

about the way some children learn.

I saw the inside of the school system.

I also saw how much teachers try.

I understand now that even when an educator

cares deeply,

there are still things that can slip through.

The way a child’s brain learns and takes in

information is not always supported in the way

they need, even when the educator in front of

them is trying their best.

And this is not only a public school issue.

Whether a child attends a public or private

school, many students are still expected to learn,

process, respond and keep up with the education

system in the same way.

Learning is not one-size-fits-all.

I see this every day with the students who come

to Learn with Miss B and are supported in a

smaller, calmer and less overwhelming

environment.

Through professional training,

including Giant Steps training,

I have learnt more about how important visual

supports, routine, predictability, processing time,

reduced language, working memory, sensory

needs and regulation are for many

neurodivergent learners.

These are not little extras.

For some children, they are the difference

between feeling overwhelmed and being able to

access the learning in front of them.

This is why I continue to invest in myself and my

tutors at Learn with Miss B.

Not just in resources.

Not just in programs.

Not just in worksheets.

But in deeper training, reflection and

understanding.

Children in 2026 need adults who are willing to

keep learning.

At Learn with Miss B, we look more closely at the

child in front of us.

The more we understand, the better we can support.

And that has completely changed the way I see learning.

DM SUPPORT if you are looking for learning support that truly sees and understands your child.

Almost at the finish line ✨

I have been busy organising what I can for baby #2.

I noticed I am way more care free this time around which I hear is quite common.

These hospital bag organisers from .nest.aus have made things much easier.

I’ve kept dust bags from other purchases and really love organising my things into them - rather than throwing it all into the suitcase/bag. Anyone else do the same?

Thank you for sending through all your hospital bag must have suggestions. They were really helpful.

Main suggestions were: thongs, charger with a long cord, diffuser, essential oils, disposable underwear and my own toilet paper 😂

Excited and looking forward to sharing the news with you! For now I am going to put my feet up and have an iced latte.

If you have any other suggestions - please share.

What are your hospital bag must haves?

How accurate is this? 😂

I am guilty of this and I love how Chris knows how to put them back on the bed now!

He also karate chops them 😆
