For 'Thank a First Responder Day', WCCC had the pleasure of welcoming Firefighter Chris to our service. 🚒🔥

Chris spoke with the children about what it means to be a firefighter, how firefighters help keep our community safe, and answered lots of curious questions from our little learners. The children loved exploring the equipment and learning about the important role first responders play in our everyday lives.

A big thank you to Firefighter Chris and to all first responders for your courage, dedication, and service to our community. ❤️👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

As ANZAC Day approaches, the Djert Room babies were gently introduced to the symbolic poppy flower 🌺

Educators thoughtfully created a hands-on experience using recycled materials, transforming egg cartons into poppy shapes. The children explored vibrant red paint with brushes, engaging their senses while creating their own beautiful artworks.

Through this experience, educators used simple, meaningful language to begin introducing the idea of the poppy as a symbol of remembrance. This supports early connections to community and cultural practices, while nurturing creativity, curiosity, and sensory exploration.
