About 10 per cent of students across the country have fallen so far behind in key literacy and numeracy benchmarks that they require additional support, according to this year's NAPLAN results.

The agency that runs the test, the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority, said 2025's results were "broadly stable" but there had been some signs of improvement.
