💜 Share the Dignity Drive – One Week to Go!

A friendly reminder to families that our Share the Dignity Drive is running for just one more week!

Thank you so much to everyone who has already donated and supported this important cause. Your generosity can make a real difference to women and girls experiencing period poverty. 💜

If you would still like to contribute, we are collecting essential period products, including:

Pads
Tampons
Period underwear
Menstrual cups
Other new, unopened period products

Donations can be placed in our Share the Dignity collection box in the foyer at Whyalla Early learning Centre.

Over the month of August we are collecting for Share the Dignity 💖

Some of our friends helped to pack donated sanitary items into the box in our reception last week 💖

The box will continue to be in the reception area for two more weeks. Thank you to those who have donated already 💖

Over the last couple of weeks we have been transitioning children from the Cuttlefish room into the Squid room where they join us on our Flying Start 3-Year-Old Preschool journey at Whyalla Early Learning Centre 🦑

We have been a part of the Office for Early Childhood Development Flying Start program since the beginning of this year and are happy to be a part of a program that is designed to give children the very best start with a play-based, teacher-led introduction to preschool that nurtures curiosity, confidence, connection and a strong sense of belonging.

Over the last couple of weeks we have seen our children and educators being explorers, scientists, researchers and creators as we explore and unpack the world around us with wonder and curiosity.

We look forward to continuing to see the growth and development of our little community 🦑

I am sure many of our families remember themselves or their children playing on these at the centre. They were still so popular that we decided to renew them rather than replace them as part of our outdoor renovations. Excellent work by MJM Abrasives.

Did you know each term we have an incursion with Chris from the library at the service. This week Chris read us books about pyjamas. Don't forget to wear your pyjamas for pyjama day on Friday.

Lacey, Linda and Naomi spent the last four days attending the Australian Childcare Alliance Conference in Brisbane QLD. This conference provided lots of opportunities for our ladies to learn about the latest research into early childhood education and care. This will help these leaders to improve practices in the centre to ensure we continue to provide high quality care and education to the children of Whyalla Early Learning Centre.
