Over the last 3 and a half days/nights, Michaela, Mel and Jo have been in Melbourne for the Early Childhood Australia Conference. The 2026 theme being “Holding the past, Creating the future”.

It has been incredible connecting with so many educators, teachers, and Early Childhood advocates from across the country and around the world. We have learnt so much, met so many amazing people and feel deeply inspired by the passion across our sector.

We can’t wait to share these ideas, bring back the goodies given to us and bring new insights into our daily practice with the children and our team.

Feel free to ask us all about it when you see us around the service!

The staff and children decided a card wasn't good enough to sign for Mels last day. Enjoy your retirement Mel.

This week we have celebrated Book Week by wearing a costume from our favourite book characters and sharing our favourite book from home. The theme for this year’s Book Week is "Symphony of Stories" 📚

We have had costumes out in our learning environments which children enjoyed exploring with and being able to change into multiple different characters across the week.

We have explored stories with felt characters and listened to an audio story. Some of these stories have been “The Hungry Caterpillar” and “The Rainbow Fish”.

We were very lucky on Wednesday to have some members from Bunnings visit our centre with their pet unicorn and dinosaur.

During the visit, our new friends read books to the children about dinosaurs 🦖 and the children even got to pet the dinosaur - without being bitten thankfully 😅

We met a unicorn 🦄 which the children decided to name “Sparkle Fingers”. The children had a dance party with the unicorn and played follow the leader around the bike track.

We are so lucky to have these amazing community connections and the children had the best time. Thank you Bunnings Warehouse Australia 💚

Thank you also to all of our families and educators for joining in and being a part of our Book Week celebrations 📖 🤩
