✨MERCY DAY 2026✨
Mercy Day was made even more special by the lovely presence of our Catherine McAuley Westmead alumnae, alongside Sisters of Mercy, Sr Barbara and Sr Margaret, as well as alumnae president Vicki Baiada, who joined us for our Mercy Day Mass before gathering together for morning tea. ☕️👩‍🎓

It was a particularly meaningful moment as our alumnae processed into the Mass alongside Student Leaders and Leadership Team - beautiful reflection of the connection between the women who have shaped our Mercy community and the young women who now carry that legacy forward.

A heartfelt thank you to the alumnae who were able to join us on Friday. 🩷

We look forward to continuing to celebrate the wonderful legacy of our alumnae and hope to see you all at the 60th Alumnae Anniversary Celebration on Friday 6th November. You can brab your tickets through this link:

CELEBRATING 60 YEARS 🎉 As the school prepares for Mercy Day this Friday, we’re taking a trip down memory lane to Mercy Day 1986. 🤍

These beautiful photographs capture a special moment in our school’s history, the handover of the Captain’s badges at the 1986 Mercy Mass, as our new School Captains were entrusted with their leadership roles for 1987, alongside School Chaplain Fr. John Boyle.

We also see the 1986 School Captains presenting flowers to School Principal, Sr Barbara, and the Sisters of Mercy. A beautiful reminder of the traditions, leadership and spirit that have been at the heart of our school community for 60 years.

CELEBRATING 60 YEARS 🎉 A throwback to school life in 1966!
Between McAuley at Westmead and St Patrick’s at Parramatta, the Sisters and teachers spent plenty of time on the road, travelling between the two campuses to teach throughout the day.

On this occasion, a kind good samaritan had stopped to lend a helping hand with a flat tyre along the way.

It’s these little moments of everyday school life that bring our history to life.

CONGRATULATIONS!! 👏👏👏 Olivia A. and Mia E. have been announced as the new School Captains for 2027 and Term 4 2026.

Mary Refalo, School Principal, made the announcement on Monday, saying Olivia and Mia were strongly supported by staff and their Year 11 peers during the voting process because they demonstrate strong leadership qualities.

“Olivia and Mia understand their commitment to Catholic service and to integrity,” Ms Refalo said. “They have a vision for the future of the school and will carry that through. I am confident that they will thrive in this position, and will lead Catherine McAuley with grace and dignity.”
