Celebrating two of our champions. Layla was presented her Best and Fairest Runner Up in the Under 12s at the Prospect Hawks - well done Layla! Ariana has been selected in the Tasmanian Swimming Team to compete in the 100m Breastroke in Melbourne in December - well done Ari! Great achievements by two fantastic young people from our school.

The Young Tassie Scientists were a hit in our school today. Our grade 1-6s engaged in a range of experiences across the morning.

Our Gr 4/5 hosted our Assembly beautifully this week and shared greetings in Japanese - impressive! An absolute highlight was our Gr 1/2 sharing a performance of their retelling of "Jetty Jumping". This was narrated with great skill by Josie and acted out by Mila, Eden, Blair Wally, and Marcos - what fantastic little actors! Well done 1/2. Our SRC Executive announced our class representatives for the remainder of the year. Well done to you all - we look forward to your ideas and contribution throughout the year. Lastly, congratulations to our Merit Certificate recipients - always a reminder of the growth and efforts of our children.

An absolute highlight of the term so far was being able to present our Aussie of the Month Award for July and August. Congratulations Mila and Arley... we think the world of you both and appreciate what you bring to our school.

Today I was surprised with a lovely morning tea, cards containing beautiful words and flowers to celebrate National Principal Day. Thank you to everyone who contributed - I felt very special. I love being part of this school and grateful to and for all my staff and children. By the way, if you find little photos of me around the school in strange places, you can thank our Grade 2/3s!

Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey – Coming Soon!

The time of year has arrived when we check in with our students through the annual wellbeing survey. At Westbury Primary School, student wellbeing is a top priority, and we value hearing directly from our students about their experiences and perspectives.

Students in Year/s 4-6 will be participating in the survey during the weeks from 31 August to Friday 11 September. A letter with more details has been sent home with your child/ren.

Our Book Parade will be held on Friday the 28 August at 9:00am in the GP Hall.

Keep costume ideas simple. Low or no cost is best, with easy costumes made from items you already have a home, or you can wear your school uniform.
