Well… this escalated quickly! 😂🍓

We’ve been busy setting up our new strawberry patch here at Van Tilburg Nursery, and we’ve filled it up with plenty of strawberry plants ready to head home with you!

There’s just one little catch…

🌿 WE’VE JUST COUNTED THEM ALL… AND WE’RE ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED! 😲🌱

After doing a full count of all our products, we’ve discovered that we currently have 266 different plant varieties in circulation here at Van Tilburg Nursery! 🤯🌿

And that number doesn’t even include our stunning range of rare and unusual annuals! 🌸🌼

To be honest, even we were surprised to see just how many different varieties we actually have growing, being propagated or coming through the nursery. And the crazy part is…

👉 We’re constantly adding more varieties every single week! 🌱🌱🌱

We’re always looking for something a little different — new plants, unusual varieties and old favourites — so there’s always something new to discover when you come and have a look around.

🌿 A little note about the 266 varieties:
While all 266 varieties are in circulation through our nursery, that doesn’t mean every single variety is available for sale at the same time.

We grow and rotate our plants throughout the year so we can keep new and different plants coming through constantly. Some varieties might be available now, while others are growing on, being propagated or waiting for their next season. 🌱

That’s what makes us a little different — you never quite know what you’re going to find! 😉

From hardy Tasmanian favourites to flowering shrubs, perennials, natives, herbs, feature plants and those unusual varieties you don’t see everywhere else…

Our Osteospermums are coming along really nicely here at Van Tilburg Nursery 🌱🌼

They’re healthy, well-established plants with plenty of fresh growth — and we’ve even got some showing off their gorgeous flowers already! 😍

Osteospermums are tough little performers and make a fantastic splash of colour in the garden. They’re great for pots, garden beds and bringing plenty of flowers into the landscape.

And because we grow them right here in Westbury, they’re being raised in the same cool, frosty and windy conditions that Tasmania can throw at them. 💪🌿

They’ve been growing away nicely, and now our Red Ball Cornflowers are ready to head home! 🌱

Growing in 75mm tubes, these beauties are a great choice if you’re after plenty of colour in the garden. Perfect for cottage gardens, borders, pots and garden beds, and they’ll make fantastic cut flowers once they get flowering. 💐

And of course, the bees and other pollinators will love them too! 🐝🦋

🐦🍎 DON’T WAIT FOR THE BIRDS TO GET READY 🌿

It’s not quite time to put the bird netting on yet, but this is exactly the time of year to start getting prepared.

The fruit trees are putting on their buds, the berries are flowering, and before long the birds will be keeping a very close eye on what’s ripening. 😅

We’ve got Rally White Bird Netting — 5 metres wide available at $5.20 per metre cut to length.

And if you’re looking for bird netting, this is the sort of product we’d recommend for doing the job properly.

☀️🌿 WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING DAY! 😍

After all the cold, frosty weather we’ve had here in Westbury, it’s so good to finally see a day like this! ☀️💚

The sun is shining, the sky is blue and the nursery is looking fantastic. 🌱🌸 There’s something pretty special about getting outside on a beautiful day, having a wander through the nursery and seeing everything starting to wake up as we head towards spring.

There’s plenty happening around the place at the moment, with plants growing strongly and colour starting to pop up everywhere. 🌼🌺🌿
