MIND OVER MATTER 🧠
Mindset is absolutely crucial to a student making any progress forward. If the door is locked, nothing can get through. Every person holds the key to their own brain. How can you help your child to break down their own self-created barriers? It’s a struggle to delete a negative self-belief, but shifting to one that feels slightly better is totally possible.
Tip for the day:
Talk about mistakes in a way that rewrites their role. Their purpose is not judgement or comparison. They are actually really cool! They’re one of the brain’s favourite ways to learn. If you make a mistake then you gain personal access to the solution, if you pick yourself up and reach for it. When you live it, you really learn it. And kids love it when their parents share personal stories from when they were kids themselves! Can you share a story with them from your youth? One where you made a mistake and it took you to a better place than you’d ever been before? I bet one popped right into your mind just then!
