As part of National Reconciliation Week, North Academy young people had the privilege of being guided by Uncle Warren on a walk through the foothills of the eastern side of the Great Dividing Range to the Baiame Cave and significant cultural sites of the Wonnarua People.
This meaningful experience provided young people with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Aboriginal culture, history and connection to Country while learning firsthand about the stories, traditions and significance of this sacred place.
We are grateful to Uncle Warren for generously sharing his knowledge and helping our young people build a stronger appreciation for Australia’s First Nations peoples, cultures and continuing connection to Country.
