In the times we are living in, it's important to be able to defend ourselves and loved ones. Having some knowledge is better than nothing. We are not trying to create super heroes. We are just wanting to stay alive. Defending yourself and others has a possibility of getting injured but the possibility of staying alive is greater with some knowledge of self defence. Welcome to the Kenwakai Karate Australian school. I’m Mike Smith, the chief instructor, and I have been teaching for over 40 years now and hold the rank of Shihan (5th Dan). Our focus is on traditional Japanese karate in all aspects of our training, including self defense. We are proud to be part of the world wide Kenwakai Karate association headed by Takahashi Hanshi (10th Dan) and aim to pass on those principals of honesty, respect and dedication to all our students.
