IS TECHNOLOGY HELPING OR HARMING?

In today's constantly changing digital environment, it's more important than ever to ask if digital devices are helping or harming students' learning.

The 2025 PISA test results were released on September 8, and the implications for our students are dire! Amongst a global drop in literacy and numeracy skills, Australian students' maths and reading scores have reached the lowest point ever recorded.

The OECD report links the use of digital devices to students' falling scores, increased distraction, and decreased engagement in learning, calling for greater care and moderation when using devices in classrooms.

While digital literacy is undoubtably an important skill for students to learn, our focus at Ace Tutoring is teaching long-term study skills using physical resources that help students develop real understanding and avoid using digital devices as a cognitive crutch.
