⚓️ Grade 2 Polly Woodside Excursion ⚓️

The Grade 2 students had an exciting excursion to the Polly Woodside! Students explored the old sailing ship and learned what life was like for sailors long ago. One of the highlights was getting to scrub the deck, just like real deckhands used to do. We also discovered an amazing fact - the ship was once sold for only one cent! It was a fun and memorable day for everyone.

🎬Grade 1 Movie Night! 🎬

The Grade 1 students had a wonderful time at their Movie Night last night. They all settled in with their blankets, teddies and friends and laughed throughout the movie Toy Story. Students then got a call saying Andy’s toys were in the playground so we headed down to find them!

What a wonderful afternoon of celebrating how far we’ve come this year!

🐍 Grade 2 Stay late! 🐨

Last week, the Grade 2 students stayed back at school until 5:30pm to experience all things Australian animals! We enjoyed an interactive workshop where students met a variety of animals, including a koala, a wombat, a lace monitor, and the endangered pygmy possum. They learnt about each animal’s adaptations and habitats, and even had the opportunity to pat or carefully hold some of them. This experience supported and extended the knowledge they have gained this year in our units of study, including The Geography of Australia, Life Cycles, and Organisms and Their Habitats.

🌏 Prep Immigration Incursion 🌏

During our immigration incursion, Prep students deepened their understanding of migration to Australia and the diverse cultures that shape the nation. They dressed in period costumes, decorated stones, played traditional Indigenous games, explored vintage toys, and even ground spices, connecting history with experience.
