What a fabulous Book Week Parade!

Our Primary students and staff certainly embraced the magic of books last Friday, turning our Book Week Parade into a wonderful celebration of reading, imagination and creativity.
From much-loved storybook characters to imaginative costumes, there were so many fantastic outfits on display. It was wonderful to see our students proudly sharing their favourite books and characters - and our staff getting into the spirit of the day too!
A huge thank you to our families for helping bring these wonderful characters to life. We loved seeing our Primary community celebrate the joy of books together!

A Symphony of Stories!

Our Year 2 students recently brought the magic of Book Week 2026 to life with a wonderful showcase of storytelling, music, drama and creativity! From colourful characters to engaging performances, they reminded us just how powerful books can be in helping us imagine, connect and see the world with wonder.

Our Mini Vinnies students from Years 4–6 recently visited Vinnies Busselton to discover what happens to the donations our College community generously provides throughout the year.

A special highlight was seeing where our College’s food donations end up, with students proudly learning that St Mary MacKillop College is a major contributor of food donations to Vinnies Busselton. They also delivered toiletry bags prepared by our Year 11 students during the Vinnies Sleepover.

This was a wonderful opportunity for our students to see that small acts of kindness can make a real difference in the lives of others.

A huge thank you to the amazing volunteers at Vinnies Busselton for welcoming our students and sharing the incredible work they do for our community.

Congratulations to Year 10 student Ruby Colman on being recognised as a Busselton Freight Rising Sports Star! 🌟⛵

Ruby's dedication, determination and outstanding achievements in sailing continue to make our College community incredibly proud. Congratulations, Ruby – we look forward to following your sailing journey and celebrating your future successes!

⛵ Congratulations to Ruby Colman – Busselton Freight Rising Sports Star for March 2026! 🏆

Congratulations to Ruby Colman from St Mary MacKillop Catholic College, who has been named the Busselton Freight Rising Sports Star for March 2026.

Ruby has enjoyed an outstanding year in sailing, earning selection in the Australian Sailing 2026 National Youth Squad, Australia's elite pathway for future high-performance sailors.

Her 2026 achievements include:
⛵ 4th at the Nacra 15 National Championships
⛵ 3rd in her division at the NSW High School Regatta
⛵ 4th in the Women's Division and 7th overall in the Youth Division at the Hobie 16 Youth National Championships
⛵ Competed at the Formula 18 World Championships, racing alongside world-class sailors
⛵ 13th at the Windrush 14 State Championships
⛵ 7th at the Formula 18 State Championships

Adding to an already incredible year, Ruby has also been selected into the South West Academy of Sport (SWAS), where she will continue to develop as one of the region's most promising young athletes.

Ruby's dedication, resilience and passion for sailing have seen her excel at local, state, national and international levels, making her a deserving recipient of the March 2026 Busselton Freight Rising Sports Star Award.

Congratulations, Ruby! We wish you every success as you continue your sailing journey. We look forward to following your future achievements. 👏
