This is my third attempt to paint a vase of fake hydrangeas. I like the colour this time. It may need a few finishing touches. My second attempt is very colourful.

I have spent more time doing craft and art than writing lately. The truth is that mistakes are the most illuminating path to knowledge. I embossed and painted my watercolour sympathy card, but thought I would press it. Voila! In a split second 90% of the embossing disappeared. This is the card as it stands with my simple cursive script begging to be altered. Someone's sending me calligraphy videos. We can see why. This butterfly card is now in my treasure trove of handmade cards, ready for a home when some sad event occurs. It reminds me of other butterfly funerals.l was inspired by lavender, but the plant lost its colour when I pressed it. The poor crushed lavender had a sensational aroma, but looked miserable. No good for the card.

Note: the only way I can take an accurate selfie appears to be by taking a photo of my reflection. This photo is a true resemblance, I feel. I look better without spectacles though.
