Schools want current resources, learning that’s connected to industry, support when they need it and content that actually makes sense to students.
We have found students engage differently when they can see the real world application of what they’re learning and the pathways it can lead to.
That’s why staying connected to industry isn’t an add-on for us, and why it’s how we approach education every single day.

Jodie, Catherine, Mark, a whole lot of orange high-vis and an enormous passion for growing the future of our industry.
Behind every program, farm visit, teacher PD day, workplace training session and industry project is a team that genuinely cares about connecting people with the food and fibre sector.
The work we do looks different every day, but the goal ALWAYS stays the same:
Helping people better understand where food comes from, the opportunities within the industry and the role they can play in its future.
We expect to see strawberries in winter, tomatoes year round and shelves full of fresh produce every single day.
More and more young people are growing up without really understanding where food comes from or what it takes to get there.
That disconnect matters!!
When students understand the complexities of how food is grown, where it comes from and the people behind it, they start looking at food a little differently and that’s exactly why this education is so important!

Industry connection isn’t a buzzword for us… it means the people developing our programs are regularly out on farms, in pack houses, workplaces and production environments seeing what’s happening firsthand.
So when students learn about the industry, they’re not learning from outdated examples or generic resources.
They’re learning from real businesses, workplaces and industry experiences happening right now.
Learning feels different when it’s connected to the real world.

VEG Education probably looks a little different depending on where you meet us.
Sometimes it’s in schools talking VET and career pathways.
Sometimes it’s conversations around vegetables, consumption and the future of the industry.
Sometimes it’s on farms, in pack houses or workplaces running training and safety initiatives.
But the common thread through all of it is helping people feel more connected to the food and fibre industry and the opportunities within it.
And usually doing it in orange high-vis 🦺
VET teachers and coordinators, this one is for you.
The VETDSS Summit is bringing together schools, RTOs and industry for a day focused on practical VET delivery in schools.
Expect real conversations, ideas you can take back to the classroom and the opportunity to connect with others working across the sector.

A great few days at Hort Connections!
One of the highlights has been seeing students immersed in the industry, making connections, asking questions and getting a firsthand look at the opportunities that exist across horticulture.
And while there’s always plenty happening on the trade show floor, it’s often the conversations that leave the biggest impact.
The planned ones, the unexpected ones and the chats that happen between sessions that leave you thinking long after the event is over.
We’re incredibly proud of our team and grateful to be part of an industry that is so willing to share knowledge, support one another and invest in the next generation.
That’s what makes this industry such a great one to be part of!!

The energy at was pretty incredible yesterday - scroll through to see what we got up to 👉
85 students from 10 schools spent the day getting a firsthand look at an industry many of them had never experienced up close before.
From hearing career stories and exploring the trade show floor to meeting industry leaders, trying new things and asking plenty of questions, there was a real sense of curiosity and excitement throughout the day.
In smaller groups, students connected directly with representatives from , , , , Hectre, , Hort Innovation, Fresh Markets Australia, and Steritech learning about the people, technology and opportunities that keep Australia’s fresh produce industry moving.
For us at VEG Education, that’s what it’s all about - creating opportunities for young people to step outside the classroom, have real conversations with industry and discover careers they may never have known existed.
Sometimes, all it takes is a single conversation to spark an idea, a pathway or even a future career.
A huge thank you to , , , and all the industry partners who took the time to share their knowledge and experiences with the next generation.

A lot of the conversations we have with schools are honestly them speaking about a desire for resources that make sense, support they can access and delivery that feels practical in a real classroom - more support that actually helps teachers teach.
