Once upon a time... a week full of stories, imagination, and adventure began! ✨

This week, we're celebrating the magic of books and the joy of reading with our little learners. Throughout Book Week, the children will enjoy sharing their favourite stories, exploring new books, taking part in creative activities, and letting their imaginations soar. 📖💛

Books help children discover new worlds, build language and literacy skills, spark creativity, and inspire a lifelong love of learning. We can't wait to see the excitement on their faces as they dive into wonderful stories together!

🎉🌸 Happy 18th Birthday, Aisha! 🌸🎉
Today we’re celebrating a very special milestone for one of our wonderful educators, Aisha, who has truly grown up alongside our Goodstart family! 💕🎂

Aisha first joined us at just 15 years old for work experience. What started as a few days of learning and helping out quickly became something so much bigger! 🌱
Her passion for working with children was clear from the beginning, and her journey continued into a school-based traineeship. From there, Aisha became a trainee with Goodstart while completing her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. 🎓✨
And she certainly didn’t stop there! Aisha is now completing her Diploma while taking on an exciting new challenge — stepping into a Room Leader role as maternity leave cover! 🌟💪
It is pretty incredible to think that the 15-year-old who first walked through our doors for work experience is now an 18-year-old Room Leader, supporting her team, building relationships with children and continuing to grow as an educator. 🥰🌈
We have had the absolute privilege of watching Aisha learn, grow and find her confidence over the years. She has become such a caring, dedicated and valued member of our team, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything she has achieved.

We hope your special day is filled with lots of laughter, happiness, cake and plenty of celebration! 🎂🎈🥳

🧪✨ SCIENCE FUN AT HOME! 🌈

Looking for a fun activity to keep little scientists busy? Try this Rainbow Walking Water Experiment! 🌈💧

🔬 You’ll need:
🌈 3–6 clear cups
💧 Water
🎨 Food colouring
🧻 Paper towel

Let’s get experimenting!
1️⃣ Fill alternate cups with coloured water.
2️⃣ Leave the cups in between empty.
3️⃣ Fold paper towels into strips and place them between the cups, with the ends dipping into the water.
4️⃣ Now watch the magic happen! ✨

Over time, the coloured water “walks” up the paper towel and into the empty cups. Kids can watch the colours mix and create new colours! 🎨

Starting daycare is a BIG milestone—for little ones and their grown-ups too! 💛 It’s a new place, new faces, new friends and lots of exciting things to discover. 🧸✨

To help make the first day a little easier, here’s a handy “What to Pack” checklist! 📝

🎒 A little backpack – something your child can recognise and carry themselves.

👕 Spare clothes – because messy play, water, paint and lunchtime adventures happen! 🎨💦

🧦 Extra socks and underwear – always handy to have a backup.

🧢 Hat – for outdoor adventures and sunny days. ☀️

🍼 Bottles or comfort items – if your child needs them throughout the day.

🧸 A favourite comforter – a familiar toy, blanket or special item can help your little one feel safe and settled.

🧥 Weather-appropriate clothing – we love getting outside, whatever the weather! 🌦️

🏷️ LABEL EVERYTHING! – hats, shoes, bottles, bags, clothes and comforters. It makes life much easier for everyone! 😊

💛 And most importantly… bring lots of cuddles!

It’s completely normal for little ones (and parents!) to feel a mix of excitement, nerves and even a few tears on the first day. Remember, settling in takes time. Our educators are here to build relationships, provide comfort and help your little one feel safe, secure and ready to explore. 🌱

🥪🍎 Lunchbox Inspiration for Busy Families! 🍓🥕

Packing a lunchbox doesn't have to be complicated! Here are a few simple, tasty ideas that little ones often enjoy:

🌯 Mini wraps with cheese, chicken, or vegemite
🍓 Fresh fruit like strawberries, grapes (cut safely), or apple slices
🥕 Crunchy veggie sticks with a dip
🧀 Cheese cubes and wholegrain crackers
🫐 Yoghurt with fresh berries
🍌 Homemade banana muffins or pikelets
🥒 Cucumber, cherry tomatoes (cut safely), and capsicum sticks

Remember to include a water bottle to help keep little bodies hydrated throughout the day! 💧

Every lunchbox is different, and that's okay! A variety of colourful, nutritious foods helps fuel children for a day full of learning, playing, and making wonderful memories. 🌈💛
