Last Thursday night, the Maylands campus filled up with families, stalls and a whole lot of "wait, you can do that after school?"
We took your feedback on board this year and gave the Pathways Expo the full two hours interactive, self-paced, and yours to explore at your own speed. Universities, TAFEs, apprenticeship providers and workplace organisations including WA Police and the ADF were all on hand to chat about what comes next.

Our College team was there too talking through courses, certificates, WACE pathways and what a Bold Park College journey can look like for your young person.

It was lovely to see Middle School, Primary and Early Childhood families in the mix as well. It's never too early to start wondering where a Bold Park journey can take you.

Every year, this tee becomes more than something to wear it is a keepsake of the memories, friendships and experiences that make Bold Park feel like home.
This year's design belongs to everyone. Inspired by our theme, Belonging, our Year 5 and 6 students shaped the artwork together sketching, sharing feedback and voting on the ideas they kept returning to: Galup, connection to place, pathways and nature.

Look closely and you will spot:
🌊 Ripples inspired by the waters of Galup
🏘️ Typography arranged like the village of our primary classrooms
🔥 A crest symbol drawn from the Wildspace
✍️ Script echoing the corrugated demountables of our Wembley campus

Special thanks to the students whose designs and ideas helped shape the final artwork.

Our students had their very first rugby session, led by the Year 11 and 12 students from Seda College and what a session it was.

The children rotated through skill games and rugby activities in two groups, throwing themselves into a brand-new sport with real enthusiasm. There were plenty of smiles and laughter along the way, including the moment one of the (much taller!) Seda students tried to dodge past a determined young player… only to slip and get tagged. Proof that in sport, size isn't everything!

We can't wait for the next session and to watch their confidence and skills keep growing.

The excitement was brewing from the moment our little ones arrived costume chatter filled the air all day while they (im)patiently waited for the big moment.
When it was finally time to change, they waltzed in with their new identities to smiles and compliments all round. Hamish kindly shared glowing accessories to groove with, and our animal tattoos completed the look.

The best part? Our Pre-Primary friends shared their favourite songs with the Bindari Beans (our Year 6s), who took on DJ duties and set up the MAC and outdoor games for their younger buddies. That's the kind of cross-age connection we love to see.

Once the music started, the dance moves came out ending in one big dancing circle and, of course, a conga line.

A huge thank you to Ren, Caitlin and the Bindari Beans for making it such a special afternoon!

This semester our Year 11 Visual Arts students are diving into portraiture, and today's lesson was all about tone and movement exploring just how many different effects you can pull out of a bottle of ink.

What we love most? Watching students try something new, push through the tricky bits, and come out the other side with portraits that genuinely impressed us. The growth within a single lesson was something special.

And a little bonus swipe through to see Taylah's clay work taking shape. Looking good, Taylah!

There is something pretty special about watching a nervous beginner coax their first flame to life and today, we saw it happen over and over again.

Families spent the session learning the ancient art of fire lighting together. By the end, our beginners had become genuinely capable fire makers with the woodsmoke-scented jumpers to prove it.

And what better way to celebrate than with fresh focaccia, baked in the pizza oven our very own students built? Nothing tastes quite like bread cooked over a fire you lit yourself, in an oven made by kids' hands.

Thank you to every family who came along and gave it a go. This is what learning together looks like.

Last Friday, the Curious Koalas held their first official meeting at our Meeting Tree
and every official meeting needs a greeting so we have started a new ritual of singing to our tree as we arrive. This week: Home Among the Gum Trees. Naturally.

Each child also received their very own nature journal a place to capture a moment in time: the date, the weather, what we notice. We sat beneath the tree, listened to the Lost Words blessing song, and sketched the birds around the lake pelicans, willie wagtails, swamp hens and more. Before we left, many of the children thanked and hugged our tree without even realising it was National Tree Day. For the Curious Koalas, every day is tree day.

This week's big wondering: is there a difference between a place and a space? Not an easy one! The children's conversation deserves its own post coming soon.

Edwina and Phoenix had a wonderful time in WildSpace, there were big moments on the rope including a first for Edwina, who pulled herself all the way to the top without any help. Phoenix cheered her on the whole way up.

Then it was off on a bug hunt, searching for tiny, fascinating creatures hiding under logs. When one log proved too heavy, they asked for a hand but with a little encouragement, they teamed up and moved it themselves. The pride on their faces said it all!

Little moments of bravery, teamwork, and discovery that's what WildSpace is all about.

The thought-provoking posters kept coming on Friday! This is exactly what we hope our afternoon sessions look like time for catch-up work, project refinement, and focused studio time as our College students move through their final term of Certificate IV assessments.

This term, the focus is BSBCRT412 – Articulate, Present and Debate Ideas. It is a unit that asks students to think hard about how ideas are shared and received and it is the perfect springboard into their next project: a publication filled with photographs, illustrations, and interviews with members of our community.

Along the way, they are building the communication, presentation, and collaboration skills to engage thoughtfully (and boldly!) with the world beyond the studio.

Our Year 11 & 12 Maths and Science students headed to Murdoch University for a day of hands-on discovery examining butterfly wings under the microscope (spoiler: those brilliant colours aren't pigments, they're light-bending scales!), solving a crime scene with blood spatter analysis and a surprising amount of trigonometry, and estimating how many ping pong balls fit in a popcorn bucket.

A special shout-out to Jude, who nailed the correct answer... but forgot to say it out loud when it counted. We have all been there!
