Book Week📚🎼🎉

Today, we celebrated book week. We began with a costume parade to show off all of our wonderful looks and favourite characters before heading inside to work through lots of different activities.

When asked what their favourite activities from the morning were, many students responded with making instruments from Lego and art supplies, and writing stories about the Symphony of Story characters.

At fruit break, we got to watch some videos of an orchestra to understand how the symphonies they play could be similar to characters and stories working together🎶

Last nights dinner deserved its own post according to the kids, who were all very happy with the fish and wedges!! Followed by a night time treasure hunt and roasting marshmallows on the fire. One group is doing some orienteering this morning while the other has headed off for their mystery tour.

Yesterday afternoon, our students had a wonderful time during a special author incursion with Judith Rossell.

During the session, students learned about the process of writing and illustrating and had the opportunity to create their own characters. They designed monsters with a base shape of a fruit or vegetable.

It was a great opportunity for students for students to explore illustrating while developing their own creative ideas.

Thank you to Judith for sharing your time, skills and creative process with our students.

Well the rain has hit, but that hasn’t stopped us! One group went on an adventure today, which included lunch behind a waterfall, hot chocolates by the river and squeezing through caves. The other group got to conquer the rock climbing wall and prepare for their journey tomorrow, as well as squeeze in some games and bike riding again!

We managed to get outside and enjoy the mild weather while we could.What a great morning!
