Did you know you can check if your tyres are legal with a 20 cent coin?

The legal minimum tread depth in Australia is 1.6mm. Here's the quick check: pop a 20 cent coin into your tyre tread. If the tread reaches the bottom of the platypus's bill, you're above the minimum. If it doesn't, your tyres are worn and it's time to get them replaced.

Check across the whole tyre, and do all four while you're at it.

It's a two minute habit that keeps you safe and legal on the road.

Brake fluid is corrosive. 😬

So if you're checking or topping it up and a bit spills onto your paintwork — it can actually strip the paint right off. Not ideal for your car or your confidence.

Sprung a coolant leak and the only liquid you've got is a half-empty water bottle? 🙃

Honestly — that'll do for now.

Topping up with water in an emergency is absolutely no problem at all. It keeps your engine from overheating and gets you back on the road. 💧

The only rule: switch it back to proper coolant as soon as you're able. Water's the understudy, not the main act.

We love teaching this stuff because it's so practical — the kind of thing that saves the day and saves the stress. 💛

Because feeling capable around your car is really just knowing these little tricks before you need them. ✨🚗

Kneel down. Line the studs up. Spin and lift at the same time, pushing through your legs.

It isn't arm strength and it never was. It's technique, and technique is learnable.

When Dee arrived at our very first Her Car Confidence session, she admitted she was a little anxious.

Wondering what a Her Car Confidence workshop is actually like?

Small group. A real car to work on. Time to ask any question, including the ones you've felt silly asking before.

You'll learn to check your fluids, change a tyre, and read a warning light. We keep it warm and welcoming, and there's usually something good to eat.

You don't need to know a thing about cars to walk in.
