We recently had the joy of presenting these amazing ladies with their certificates after completing the Her Car Confidence workshop. 💛

And can we just say — we're so proud of every one of them.

They walked in ready to learn, got hands-on, asked all the questions, and walked out knowing how to look after their own cars.

Changing a car battery? There's a right order — and it matters more than you'd think. 🔋

A lot of people don't realise the sequence isn't random. Get it right and it's simple and safe. Get it wrong and you can end up with sparks you really didn't want.

Here's the rule we teach:

Taking it out → negative off first, then positive. ➖➕
Putting it back in → positive on first, then negative. ➕➖

An easy way to remember it: the order reverses when you reconnect.

We walk you through exactly why it works this way, so it sticks — no memorising, just understanding.

Meet Maddie. 💛

She signed up for our very first women's workshop feeling excited — she'd had a few moments lately of "I really need to know more about my car," and the timing felt perfect.

On the day? Totally comfortable, in a lovely small group of like-minded women all there for the same reason.

Her favourite thing she learnt: the confidence to open the bonnet, look inside, and actually know what's what — which fluid goes where, and what the levels should be.

From "I need to know more" to "I've got this." That's the Her Car Confidence way. 🚗

Ever been told your car needs a major repair… and just had to take their word for it?

We've seen it happen too many times. And it's exactly why we started running these workshops.

We're Webbie's Mechanical — Jade and Scott. Between us we've spent years in the trade, from the parts counter to the workshop floor.

And here's the thing that got under our skin: even people with knowledge get talked over, oversold, and left feeling helpless. If it happens to us, it's happening to everyone.

So we decided to do something about it.

Her Car Confidence, Teens Car Confidence and Basic Truck Maintenance are all built on one belief: everyone deserves to feel capable and in control of their own vehicle. 💛

Quick one: do you know what pressure your tyres should actually be? 🤔

In a recent Her Car Confidence session, someone checked and came up at 26 psi — lower than it should be, and a really common find.

So we turned it into a live lesson: how to read the right pressure for your car, how to check it, and how to top it up yourself. 🚗💨

Why it matters — underinflated tyres wear out faster, drink more fuel, and don't handle as well when you need them to.

Learn it once, with someone right beside you, and it's a skill for life.

That's the kind of hands-on confidence Her Car Confidence is all about. 💪

✓ Check engine oil, coolant & washer fluid
✓ Spot issues before they become problems
✓ Find your jack and spare tyre
✓ Change a tyre safely
✓ Replace worn wiper blades
✓ Change a battery
✓ Know when to DIY & when to call a mechanic

They Hand You a Licence, Not a Clue: Webbie's Launches a Teens-Only Workshop

After the success of its women's course, Webbie's Mechanical is running a teens-only basic maintenance workshop — and the logic is simple. A fresh licence rarely comes with the know-how to change a tyre or handle a breakdown on the side of the road.

The session mirrors the women's course: hands-on and judgement-free. Young drivers learn how to change a flat, check oils, globes, batteries and tyre pressures, and what to actually do when something goes wrong away from home. Doing it alongside other teens — rather than a parent — is half the point.

Build these habits early and a new driver's first breakdown becomes a five-minute fix instead of a roadside panic. It's confidence that lasts long after the lesson ends.

When Dee arrived at our very first Her Car Confidence session, she admitted she was a little anxious.
