It's been a busy time outside the classroom for our St Mary MacKillop superstars! ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿ Our Year 5 & 6 students competed at the Carmel College Netball & AFL Gala Day, and wow, did they deliver! Our Undefeated Senior Netball Team and AFL Team brought home the Grand Final wins! ๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿ†

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ We also had 30 students represent our school at the Redlands Roo's District Athletics Trials, giving it their all and making us incredibly proud.

๐Ÿ‘ A huge shout-out to Minnie and Liam, who have qualified for the Met East Athletics Team in both the 100m and 200m events. What an incredible achievement! ๐Ÿš€

From netball courts and football fields to the running track, our students continue to show they're not just great learners, they're talented all-rounders too! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’šโค๏ธ

Our Prep students enjoyed an exciting day participating in the Living by the Bay program, provided by the Moreton Bay Environmental Education Centre!

They had the opportunity to explore the natural environment at the Centre before travelling to the Moreton Bay foreshore to continue their investigations. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐Ÿฆ€

๐Ÿ”ฌ Taking on the role of Super Scientists, they used their senses to investigate native plants, search for tiny insects ๐Ÿž with nets and bug catchers, and explore the world around them using microscopes ๐Ÿ”.

Students also closely observed animals living in the intertidal zone and discovered how the unique features of plants and animals help living things grow ๐ŸŒฑ, survive ๐Ÿ’š and thrive ๐ŸŒ in different habitats.

It was a wonderful day filled with curiosity, discovery, collaboration and care for our local environment! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’™โœจ

Our St MMK Rock Band has been busy cranking up the volume and perfecting their tunes as they get ready to rock the stage at the QCMF Music Festival! ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต๐ŸŸ Soran Bushi in Action! ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต

Our students enthusiastically performed the traditional Japanese Soran Bushi (ใ‚ฝใƒผใƒฉใƒณ็ฏ€), also known as the Fisherman's Dance. Inspired by the movements of fishermen hauling in their nets, this energetic and powerful dance celebrates strength, teamwork, perseverance and community.

Our students embraced this special cultural experience and showcased their learning through every movement. We are so proud of the way they continue to develop their understanding and appreciation of Japanese culture.

As part of our Catholic Education Week celebrations, our Year 6 students were honoured to attend Carmel College's "Share Your Light, Inspire Others" Mass.

This special gathering brought students together in faith, reflection, and community, reminding us that even the smallest acts of kindness, compassion and service can shine brightly in the lives of others. โœจ

What a special morning for our Prep students as they attended their first Parish Mass with their wonderful Year 6 buddies by their side. ๐Ÿ’™

Our Year 6 leaders were a shining example of faith in action, guiding and supporting their younger buddies with kindness, care and encouragement throughout the celebration. Watching these friendships grow while sharing in our faith journey together was truly special.

Moments like these remind us that leadership is about service, compassion and walking alongside others. We are so proud of our Year 6 students for being such positive role models and a guiding light for our youngest learners.
