NQ Civil Engineering Contracting Pty Ltd (NQCEC) have been providing construction and project management services in remote parts of northern Australia since 1981. NQCEC continues to have a strong focus on completing infrastructure upgrade projects in remote indigenous communities whilst providing employment and training opportunities for both indigenous and non-indigenous workers. NQCEC construc
tion capabilities consist of and are not limited to:
Road construction and maintenance;
airstrip construction and maintenance;
utility services;
bulk earthworks;
drainage works,
pavement construction (including on site blending and testing to produce pavement; materials from naturally occurring materials); and
Bitumen sealing works. NQCEC is a remote area specialist achieving an annual turnover in excess of $15M whilst engaging up to 50 staff with an extensive listing of subcontractors and suppliers that regularly work for or supply to NQCEC. NQCEC have completed many construction projects in locations such as Aurukun, Kowanyama, Mapoon, Mornington Island, Old Mapoon, Napranum and Pormpuraaw,
NQCEC invest in the communities that we perform work in by looking to engage local construction workers and service providers. In addition, NQCEC provide valuable sponsorship to community events such as:
Laura Races;
Weipa Fishing Classic;
numerous school sporting events in the various communities;
Relay for Life;
Weipa Bull Ride; and
Weipa Go Kart Racing. NQCEC commitment to identifying training and employment opportunities for indigenous people is currently being extended through the formulation of a Partnership Agreement with Civil Safety FNQ - Safety and Training (Indigenous owned company) for the employment and training of indigenous people throughout the Aurukun, Mapoon, Napranum, Weipa and surrounding Communities.
